- Too lazy to trace The Alphalord to the original, but since it's clearly a modern-day photograph, there shouldn't be much discussion.
- The USS Mythra would be the CSS Virginia, one of the first steam-powered ironclad ships of America.
- Lady Oceanis gets the photo from the Christian Radich, a norwegian ship launched 1973.
- HMS Vulosi might be acceptable, the original missing the timeframe by only 36 years
- The HMS Volare is actually valid, the picture being from 1728, but the design of the accompanying ships seem to be from around 1850. The smoke rising from the funnel in the center is a bit of a giveaway.
Sorry for runing everyone's day.
As a solution for this problem, I suggest that three criteria should be met for a ship to be accepted:
- The Hull is made of wood. If there is metal, it is just small amounts of reinforcement, not plating. The technology to create high-quality iron or steel plating for ships came with the industrial revolution, which of course also brought steam-power.
- The propulsion of the ship is by sail or oar, nothing newer. I think those two rules together mean that ships up to a launch year around 1800 are allowed.
- The original the ship is based on was actually armed with cannons.
Name: Peter Rayet
IC nickname: Helgi Sigmundson
Age: 37
Gender: male
Bio: Having served aboard ships from all over the old continent, Helgi came over here as part of a merchant's ships crew. Seeing the opportunities offered in this new country, he decided to leave ship and become captain himself.
Job: Slaver and mercenary (offers his ship to the highest bidding cause)
Personality: Overconfident, egoistic. He has a large, but sometimes wierd sense of humor, and no conscience at all, only caring for profit.
Apperance: Lanky, black hair, beard in a constant state of stubble. He wears black leather clothes with silver buttons and a black triangular hat. He always carries a sabre with him.
Questions?:
Suggestions?: Well, see above...
Other: Ho and a Bottle of Rum!
Ship:
Name: Skidbladnir
Apperance: Swedish Bellona-class frigate (~1783)

Cannons: 20x 24lb cannons, 10x 6lb cannons
Masts: 3
Top speed: Unfortunately, wikipedia doesn't give any numbers, so I'd say 12 knots. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
What does “starboard” and “port side” mean?: Starboard, from Old English steorbord, refers to the side from which the ship is steered, while Port has been named so because this was the side the ship has been moored to, which is opposite to starboard, since that prevents damage to the steering oar.))

2: have you ever heard of a video game which is completely rialistic? And btw, it dosn't realy matter what age the ships are from as long as it looks like a ship wich could have been used during the pirate age))

((I heard about the CSS Virginia from other sources than wikipedia, but mostly it was just combing through the commons to get the picture, then find the pages where it is used. Say what you will about wikipedia, but they care about getting their sources right, unlike the majority of other websites.
And 2nd: No computer game can be completely realistic. My point is that only two of the ships (now three) do actually look like ships that could have been used during the pirate age.))

Granted, anything smelly and smoke-producing would be in the front of the boat (sail power and all), so they might be steam-driven.))

"How do I cook? I usually don't do much of the cooking but I'm pretty good if I say so myself" He plops another beer in front of the admiral. Two others approach the bar-front, a man and a small girl. Hmm, interesting look he gives the Navy Guy, James chuckled to himself. He ordered a beer and a milk, presumably for the girl, so James put them in front of him. James only slightly pays attention to their conversation until the young girl pulls a crossbow on the navy guy. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. No weapons in my bar young lady. If you have a problem with this guy take it outside. Otherwise put the crossbow back where it came from please." James has one hand under the counter just in case.....

Helgi strides into the bar, his boots clanging loudly on the floor. Taking off his hat, he marched to the bar, shouting: "Hey, Barman! Booze and meat, best you have! See to it!" He leans on the counter, seemingly ignoring the other patrons.

After pouring a generous measure of spices over his meat, Helgi begins to eat. While chewing, he turns to Mark again. "Father, eh? You must be a really honorable one, not leaving the thing with the whores you made her with."
((Since our barkeep player wasn't active yesterday, I'll simply pretend he's been at least giving people what they ordered.))

"Look mister, we may be stuck in this game, but it's still a game. The second you trot yourself into my bar your head up display should have shown you the three rules of my bar. 1. No weapons, 2. No fighting, 3. If you have no room sleep on the floor. If you have a problem with those rules you know where the door is." The admiral guy asks James if he want's a job. "Get rid of the ship, then I'll take your offer for a transport. Oh if you actually are going to attack that ship I got some info on it if you're keen." Then another man enters the bar and orders the best beer and steak. "Give him a cold one and some of Courtney's steak," James says to a barmaid. She quickly returns with the man's order. Again he only shows little interest in their conversation until the new man complains about a lack of salt in the steak. Damn it, James thinks as he puts his face in his hand. "Holly, watch the bar for me while I go remind Courtney that salt goes into nearly all our food," James says to a pretty blonde barmaid who promptly takes over as he rushes out back. Holly takes the newest man's order for a steak and sends him another of Courtney's saltless mistakes.
