Ok I built an underground home right? Well I am starting to build above ground, and occasionaly pop up to do things. I have a double chest full of dirt and everything seems to be good.
Well every time I go up I notice patches of land with holes in them, trees missing the dirt underneath them. I have so far used 2 stacks of the dirt I stored up from underground mining to fix it all, and if a creeper explodes I replace the dirt immediately.
The problem is when night time comes along the endermen pop up and pick up dirt, then when it's day they teleport around and despawn while holding the dirt.
So they keep stealing all the dirt from the ground... I occasionaly find a grass block in the tunnels, but it's the mess they make above ground that makes me angry.
If this keeps up I wont have any dirt around my home. I will have to make a giant stone complex, and be hesitant about building any small gardens.
I can't figure out any other way to fix this, other then making around my home a water park

Well that's stupid.
Now the only thing that slabs are useful for is decoration.

This should prevent Endermen from picking up blocks.

Ahh.. I forgot. It's singleplayer survival. I may have cheated in the way of snapshots with enchanted bricks for my mob grinder and the hopper clone glitch, but I have cheats disabled on that map.
I don't mind creepers. I guess the only way to fix it is what I should be doing anyways. Make my home into one elaborate landscape of various stone design combinations. With lots of redstone.

As long as you light up areas to keep mobs from spawning then those areas should be fairly safe from endermen. When they teleport usually they prioritize darker spots in teleport range which many times means they will teleport to caves underground. If you've lit up the caves in the area then one option is to create dark rooms underground for them to teleport into until they despawn.
Re: 3D Minecraft - Anyone tried it?

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

I've found an easy way to get rid of endermen for a while. Enchant a sword with Fire Affinity (or whatever it is called) and hit the enderman with it. It will take fire damage, and teleport around and it wont come back (since taking environmental damage such as fire/lava/water resets it's hostility.)
