[ANY VERSION] Ambient Cave Sounds!!

I haven't really seen anyone messing around with these so I whipped out Audacity and went to http://www.freesound.org to mix some cool sounding .ogg up. :Pig:
It basically gives you some dripping and wind cave sounds instead of the that-should-not-come-from-a-cave sounds

This will only work with the Audio mod installed. Otherwise it will just reset the sounds.

Audio mod = "Sound Mod Enabler v5 (Beta 1.4_01)" (Whatever the newest version is.)

Installation for SOUND MOD ENABLER
------------
1. Make sure you have a backup of your minecraft.jar file!!!
2. Open your minecraft.jar file with a program like WinRAR or 7zip.
3. Delete the META-INF folder from the archive.
4. Drag the class file into the open archive.
5. Enjoy! :)

Usage
-----
To enable the mod:
Create a text file named "DO_NOT_UPDATE" and put it in the resources folder.
Minecraft will no longer overwrite your changes!

INSTALLATION FOR AMBIENT CAVE SOUNDS:

Download http://www.mediafire...44m4h9x2u4vr7ig
Place this .rar (.zip is the same) into the .minecraft/resources/newsound/ambient/cave/ folder and extract/replace!
Go and find a 3x3 dark area and listen to the wonders of natural caves...
BACKUP YOUR SOUNDS! JUST TO BE SAFE!

WORKING ON LONGER SOUNDS ATM

PLEASE leave your comments so I can add these to your liking, or we can make this an

ACTUAL mod by having them whenever you're walking in a dark cave!

[center]I'm thinking "stone + low light level = cave sounds" type of mod... Anyone care to help?
:stone: + low :--+: = :o

Here is a link to the originals just in case.

Well done! Adding these sounds to every future install, as :P 's fake monster noises really got on my nerves.

Can you upload a clip so we can hear how it's like?

Understandable. The high pitched one just make me jump and the others just don't seem to fit.

great mod, but sounds are too few n far between, if the preview one was constant when in a near dark enough cave it would be awesome!

is that possible?

Yeah, it sounds perfect.
The only issue I have is the time intervals. There must be a way to make the sounds nearly constant instead of like once per hour :)

I could make the ones you hear last but if you leave a cave or are standing outside you would still hear it continuing. I just changed the sound files around.

There probably is. I know nothing about coding so you got me there. Maybe someone with coding experience wants to work with me I'll give him the sounds. For now if you want, I'll make something a little longer to help everyone keep that immersion. Maybe 2-5 minutes of dripping? LOL Don't want to make you guys need to use the bathroom more often!

I've turned my MUSIC off because of this too. Now I get to hear the sunrise again! Music really does make the world go round.. Or at least helps it up in the morning with a cup-a-joe! :Pig:

Even though they are all realistic some of them actually sound pretty creepy lol non-intentionally of course. :)

Found this post from a link in reddit from a cached copy of r/minecraft lol...

Nice, love the preview sound, would be a great addition to the game if there we're a mod that allows more freedom in how sound plays (frequency, loopability, blending noises as you enter/leave cave).... A mod I would love to take a crack at but I really don't have the time, hopefully someone else tackles the idea :D

You are probably putting it in the right place, but as the first post states:
