In creative mode and survival mode there are trees everywhere so i can't build big projects because I need a lot of space to create things like a picture of steve's head and a sculpture of a plane

Are you in a Forest biome?
Try find a flatland or desert biome and make a bed to set your spawn there.

Step one: Create new world.
Step two: Set gamemode to creative. Then click more world options.
Step three: Click world type until it says "Superflat"
Step four: Create the world.
Step five: ?????
Step six: Profit!!!

jk, I can't program. (yet)
If you are gunning to make sculptures, I'd shoot for somewhere where there's a lot of space. e.g. plains or desert biomes

Just use super flat, or walk a few hundred blocks in any direction, that should get you out of the forest biome your in

Or simply cut the trees and use the wood for the 1001 items you can make with it. Sometimes you have to work to get the environment suitable for your buildings. That's the whole idea of Minecraft. And if you can't beat the environment, just join it. Make tree houses for example, or build your house around the trees, where the trees can act like natural pillars in your hall.

ha ha ha it will take WAY too long for me to chop down all of the trees in my world and my Minecraft game and my computer is over my grandma sue's house and i don't get much time over there.

Find a plains biome? There are no trees there. Just lots of tall grass.
