Sorry for the late response, but Zyphercap who usually covers our forum page (I deal with the mail and PMC) is on vacation, and as it happens i didn't have an account until now.
The server downtime, which is now over, was due to our server being relocated, for a better experience in the future. This is something that was planned on very short notice, and as such we were not able to send out sufficient warnings. It is not something that will happen every month, or even every year, just a 1 time occurrence. The reason for the lenght is that domains can take several hours to change, there was little we could do about that.
This was all announced on our PMC page, along with ways to get around the domain problem, and that way join our server trough the problems, as we kept our promise of nearly constant uptime, only with a new temporary IP. In future i recommend checking out the PMC post, if noting is said here, as that is the page we prioritize, but I will try to make sure we do a better job of updating this page as well.

can you please tell us why the server is down D:
[spoiler] I just hope it's not a world reset like what happened the first time i joined the great server....... [/blockforblock]
P.S I actually did [/blockforblock] at the end for some reason
Just to make it clear for people, at no point have we lost our main worlds, but within the first 2 weeks of uptime we had to restart our plot area, but no big projects were lost. This was due to a fix of our plot plugin, and something that have been under control for a long time. We backup our world daily, to make sure no one loses their builds.
Sorry for the inconvinience this downtime have caused, I hope you will stay with us trough it. Remember you can always contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org for a response within 12 hours.
