Welcome to the vast world of Resino! A beautiful landscape booming with development and ripe with opportunity. With a large abundance of iron, a plentiful supply of coal and a plethora of rich soil, Resino is on no shortage of growth any time soon. Despite the colonization in recent years, and the prosperous industry of mining, Resino holds a dark secret that few are able to call upon...
Lore:
Spoiler:
Since the beginning, our Ancestors spoke of a continent that was untouched by Man. A land, filled in excess of natural resources that are as far as any eye could descry. Crystal clear waters, along with soil perfect for agriculture. Back then, it seemed like a far-fetched dream for the masses, as people had once lived under tyranny. For many, life was a struggle. Resources were spent foolishly, and food-shortages were a daily part of life. It was difficult to raise a family, as many of the young were too weak to fight against the disease ridden streets. The old country was awful, but with no other place to go, people had to live with it.
As time passed, a group of adventurers known only as "The Nomads" believed in what the Ancestors once said. The Nomads were fed up with the old country, and decided to trek out in search for this distant and plentiful land. Word spread like wildfire as people in uproar praised the decision. Many grew tired of the tyrant on their homeland, and kept their hopes high in a place where they could emigrate to.
After months of travel, The Nomads voyage had come to a close. Their ships had docked on a land filled with lush vegetation, and gleaming shorelines. The name "Resino" was given, which meant "Good Hope" in their native tongue. In a short matter of months, The Nomads had constructed a small settlement by the shore they arrived on. The name of this settlement was simply titled "Mulvikstead". As the town began to grow, The Nomads established a trade route between Mulvikstead and the old country. This allowed many to emigrate to Resino, leaving their whims of the old country behind, and turning a new leaf towards a brighter future in a new land.
As the years passed, a new generation lives within Mulvikstead. Families composed of farmers, miners, and various labor workers live their lives in peace on the land. They believed that the quality of the soil here was much greater then of that in the old country. Crops yielded more, and were generally more successful. The descendants of now passed Nomads were given a higher title, as some went to take charge of watching over the nation. Life was lived peacefully, until trouble soon began to brew. Various researchers were interested in a unique substance only found on Resino. The substance known as "Redstone" was said to be a unique resource, one that was able to produce an energetic force. Word soon leaked about Redstone, as various scientists flocked to Resino to investigate the ore. Despite the excitement caused of Redstone, no one is yet aware of the unlimited power it may hold.
Today, twenty years have passed since The Nomads have settled on the lands of Resino. Immigrants arrive almost every day, boarding off of ship after ship to settle in the town of Mulvikstead. Many follow the path of becoming a farmer, or work within the various mines that dot the landscape. Despite the recent climb of immigrants in the years, the fact of "The curse" still remains to this very date. The creatures from unknown sources still haunt the streets at night, causing havoc to those who reside here. It's rumored that where these beasts come from is an entire different dimension itself, holding many secrets within it.
Scientists are still working on developing ways to free the land from this plague but until that discovery, the world will continue to subside. Recently, a pseudo-church has raised in belief that "The Curse" is a process of reclamation caused by the sins of Man. Known only as "The Ministry of Truth", this group of described "cultists" have been frowned upon. Many will take up sides with the scientists, believing that they can fix the World of this plague, but several have been known to secretly follow The Ministry of Truth, believing that they are correct in this whole ordeal. Who will you take up sides with?
