Anyone on Android want to play the original and ancient version of the game, but don't want to illegally download it? I found the original 0.1.0 alpha APK in minecraft.net assets (along with some other... surprisingly less mature things). I am not sure if this is the demo or full.

It's the demo version. If you don't have a Xperia Play, hook up a USB keyboard to control movement (though you can't control where to look).
I ran this a while ago to see how far we came.

Fun fact: I think the 3 key on a USB keyboard toggles sneaking in this version.
Fun fact #2: there are more items in the dynamic symbol table than in 0.5.0 - it mentions armour, among other things.

On the official Ice Cream Sandwich and later emulators only, as previous emulators emulate armv5 instead of v7.

Wow. Everything looks different. I was kinda hoping the terrain generation was different. The controls look different. Unfortunately, it will only play for about five seconds and then lock up my device.

I wish it were possible to successfully port this to iOS however I'm pretty sure it's not possible.

I remember that it ran really well on the Toshiba Thrive tablet that I test patches on.

What devices do you have and is the freeze only for PE or for the entire device?

Mine is an LG Optimus P970 Black, and it only freezes and lags the game, not the device itself.

It's odd because the device runs the current MCPE very well.

I have Samsung Galaxy tab 2 7.0 with Cyanogenmod 9. The game crashes my whole system, but that does not matter to me, because I would rather play .5.0 anyways. I'm not sure if the crashing has anything to do with not having stock ROM or not.

It runs very well with my Galaxy Tab 10.1, no lag. But what's with the server thing? I really like the gui better than the new one and I noticed that ice is transparent which is cool!
