I not even gonna point out what I think of the case you got...

I think Ankenmann did it for you before he got banned. At least you're sensible enough to distinguish fact from opinion :/

My case is functional, looks great to me, and was only $50. A win-win-win for me.

I do like it, but I personally could not justify purchasing a case that costs half my current build.

Switch 810, nicer looking, cheaper by far, features i can use to their extent, i just dislike the 900d, too expensive for what it offers compared to other cases in it's range
If you are looking at a case in that price range, you get whatever the heck you want, regardless of features offered.  If you are willing to drop $300+ on a case, you should at least know what you are doing and get what you like best.  I would rather have a 900D than an 810, simply because I like the way it looks more and also I really like Corsair and would want to support them.

I rather like it, though I'd at least want a removable motherboard tray for that price.

Nah, I like it and would get it if my needs required it.  But the case I have now is already way overkill for my setup.

I think its good, that they listened to what people said it needed, and added it. It sure got alot of features, but for that price its not worth it. (atleast not for normal gamers) I dont like the look aswell.

ooooh man just one feature keeping you away from it :P

its got all the most wanted features already :D  just leaving out the removable motherboard for obvious manufacturing costs that would  otherwise increase the consumer price a great deal.   The case is big enough to work inside it no ? :P

George from Corsair did say that they left some features out that would only increase the price and meaning things that practically isnt worth the extra cost and i kinda believe him.

flip the big case on its side and VOILA  space and view enough to get those stand-offs in.     on a smaller size case it would be a feature thats greatly missed :D  but not here ( at an additional cost )

or am i missing something ?

adding a feature   simply to justify a price isnt what a quality brand do.    look at Apple products  they have WAY LESS features on there products yet they are expensive as if they own the world.   the price is in the service and build quality.    same goes for corsair
and at a fair price i might ad ;)  Apple likes to exaggerate. hmmm maybe apple was a bad example here :P   but you get my point.

Seriously, that case is going to cost ~$400 and you make the price argument?

At that price point, you can afford to say "it must have these features."  A single feature was enough to make me switch from looking at the HAF 912 to the NZXT Source 220 (they were about the same price at the time).   This was down in the $30-$40 range too.

I agree, but we've gone through this so many times it's pointless tbh. He likes it, that's all that matters! :)

If I was to buy this case, I'm spending $350-400 on the case. I deserve to have the features I want.

Working in my Shinobi with the motherboard installed is a pain in the ass because of my Noctua NH-D14.

I dont make it an argument its people  that make it an argument just cause its missing 1 feature Posted Image

I would make it an argument if the price was driven upwards with features that arent really necessary.
like a fan controller that most would switchout anyway, or a mobo tray in a case you can stick your head inside to screw in stand-offs Posted Image
its called cost efficiently designing a product.

True and thats the only reason to spend money on something.  maybe George will design a Full-On edition of the 900D  with all the missing features added bet it would cost $450 :P minimal! haha

Our point was that we're spending huge amounts of money on the case alone. If we have enough money for this case, then we have enough money to buy one with exactly the features we want, so why buy this?

Silverstone TJ07 if you dont know that already

easy you can get a quad rad in the bottom and a dual in the front and top with little effort and probably a triple in the roof with enough effort more than enough to cool the hottest custom loops it is in every way better than a 900D (not that its going to be a bad case just not good enough) it has more than enough expansion and drive support and has every feature bar unusable narrow 5.25" drive bays and more (removable mobo tray) anbd its half the price of the expected cost of the 900D this case and cases like it are the reason I wouldnt buy one and most other people wouldnt Corsair are trying to compete with Caselabs and other top of the tree cases and they just dont have the features to back it up
Apple is like North Korea, they give their consumers crap products, isolate them from other platforms, and brainwash them into thinking they (apple) are amazing.

I completely forgot about Silverstone :o used to be so in love with the Raven RV01!

i think Corsair are on the right track though, starting by listening to the people and whatever they deliver its rock solid quality :D

The TJ07 is about € 270 - €290 around here its way less than the 900D but the 800D is around that same price.   your right comparing the features the obsidians loose, then its left with design and quality quality can always lack on anything and design is strictly preference So the corsair still has a market it can satisfy.

even among the minecraft nuts that buy anything thats minecraft related or almost related :P

minecraft lego and pick-Axe pens etc... haha  come get 'ur obsidian pc block !

If I'm doing an insane water loop build I'll get something from caselabs, $350 is a bit much for what you get. Same thing can be said about the 800D, the Shinobi XL is better in every way, especially for air cooling, watever I would go with the caselabs.

If you were seriously serious about insane cooling, you'd probably invest in a mineral oil solution instead of stuffing a bunch of beefy rads in your case.

Sir please,

And like all upper end corsair cases it is expensive and has more features than you need. I'd rather get a NZXT Switch 810 and save the money, there are other cases with good water cooling options that are cheaper as well.

Just pointing this out; this is a flagship, meaning its really there to be like ohhhh ahhhhh our flagship is better than yours....

For example, when was the last time you recommended a Cosmos II....yet HAFs are fairly common here.

Same basic concept.
