Alright, so Jeb or Notch (whoever, Ill just say Mojang) came out with the Wither in October, it being the boss of the nether. The enderdragon is the boss of the end. Now all thats left is the overworld. The giant however, can finally have a purpose in the overworld. The overworld boss should be the giant with some tweaks of course. Right now all you have to do is smack the giant a good amount of times and there, he's dead. He CAN attack but its unlikely, plus he's slow for a zombie his size. Tell me what you guys think, I can't really come up with combat mechanics but maybe you guys can.

Only if it looked like a giant (like one of the giants from Skyrim, but blocky of course)

But knowing Mojang it would be a model of a "testificat" but 10x the size.. So if that is the case..no.

I agree with the idea, but I also think that they should make a special area to put the Giant(or whatever other boss they come up with) and a specific biome. Non the less, good idea.

Maybe not something as large as a giant, but something that could attack villages between the size of current zombies and the old giant, might be a nice addition. It would give a reason to defend villages that you care about, and it would have to be rare.

You sir, gave me an idea. In the village, you goto the library, remove one of the crafting table, and it leads to a dungeon where you eventually fight the giant.

It would have to be tweaked a lot and look more like the brutish, fantasy-style giant, but in general I support this idea.

My current avatar is: Raistlin Majere from the Dragonlance novels.

Twitter is pretty much the only way.
But he's swamped with suggestions. I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but don't get your hopes up.

You should actually probably suggest this to Dinnerbone if you really want to, but it's the same thing for him.
Yo dawg, i herd u liek swag, so i put swag in your swag so you can-
No. Stop.

well if you were to make a giant, there should be a special way to spawn him, like maybe using some item on a zombie. and for the combat mechanics, it should just be like a regular zombie, but with more health and more attack. so you could basically base it off the zombie code. but having a secret passage in a village seems like a really cool idea too.

WAIT I JUST HAD AN AWESOME IDEA!!! what if the secret dungeon under the village had a chest with some special item in it, and you could use the item on a zombie to trun it into a giant? also the secret dungeon should have some traps and mobs and be really dangerous to make it harder to spawn a giant.

I was thinking that the Giant should be used in the sky dimension biome that Notch has not released yet. But it would look great! In other words i don't think that their should be a overworld boss

First off I'll like to say Jeb works on the game. And second the sky dimension was replaced by the End. I'm not saying there won't be one. But I wouldn't expect one.

Yea a giant would be cool. It shouldn't have a zombie or villager skin IMO.

yeah that WOULD be cool but it would be a bit hard to animate, seeing as it would have to have a load of joints, and it might be a bit laggy on slow computers. also the coding for movement would have to be GIGANTIC or else the snake would look really stiff and mechanical.

I, for one, have always wished for the addition of the Red Dragon to Minecraft. Notch promised it sometime ago, so hopefully it could be added. It would be in the Overworld and, more specificly, in the Extreme Hills biome, and live in Dragon Lairs. Dragon Lairs would be like enormous caves that would get more and more loot as you venture in farther and farther, and finally a chamber which the dragon stores all its loot. The attack mechanism would be the dragon hiding in one part of the cave and suddenly swooping down and attacking the player. The dragon would look like a smaller version of the Enderdragon, and its body would be red, and spikes on its body would be a gold color. When it dies, it drops a Dragon Horn, and you could brew it into a Potion of Beserkness (or beserkerness, I don't know), which increases melee attacks and has a nausea affect at the end of the potion affect. Go Red Dragons!
Endermen. Very sensitive.

Well when I think about it, it seems awesome. I think the giant should be there the original zombie one. There should be like 1 spawn in the over world that is always very far from spawn, that has this mountain and a waterfall where it spawns inside and comes out to attack. lol

Giants would need MAJOR rewiring to work properly again. But I would love to see some Fe Fi Fo Fum-diddlyuptiousness in the game.
