I'm not understanding your problem here, so your saying your the admin of the new windows 8.. but your dad will change that, guessing making you a sub user of the computer right? o.O But even so you should still have access to the roaming folder I believe.

Yes, I littually just made a new account for my windows 8, and made it as a child standard account.. so not admin... and was still able to access the roaming folder..

Unless I'm understanding your question wrong, then I have no idea, sorry.

first you need to enable the viewing of hidden files by going to control panel and folder options..
Then just press windows key + c and go to search and type %appdata% and go to roaming

I have made everything visible exept the ones that are reccomended hidden. But my file extensions are shownto known file types. it's an extension of minecraft.ex which is known because half my files are .exe. But then I opened up the search menu and at%appd there were no results. Thanks for the help btw.

Ok let's just make sure were on the right track here. :P

First of all go to control panel: win key+c - settings - control panel - change the view to large icons or small icons from the top right button, and then look for folder options... in that window go to the View tab - then tick the little circle that says:

Show hidden files, folders and drives

Then press ok.

after that you should be able to search for %appdata% Thats where the roaming folder is whhich is the home for the .minecraft folder when you do all your modding. :P

For the minecraft.exe that will just go into to your downloads folder which is easy to get to.
