Really enjoying the aggressive jerks claiming expertise in the update system.

4J have counted the bug patches as title updates, and the first release of the game was actually title update 1 (it probably had a day one patch)

The patches often add a few minor features as well as bug fixes, so maybe that's how they justify it, eg TU6 added golden apples to the crafting menu.

The wiki lists the various updates but does not use the TU1-7 label on them, and I believe it is missing an August patch to the 1.7 version of the game, which when included in the wiki's list shows seven (7) versions of the game.

The game came out in May last year, roughly 8 months ago, and there has been a patch or update every month except September. Title update 8 would be due mid-to-late January if the system continues as normal.

However, what the update will contain (other than bug fixes) is anyone's guess.

Here's the version history. The sticky thread on this forum may have more info, haven't checked it.

EDIT:

Here is the best evidence that you are right or wrong, in 4Js own words, on this very forum for anyone to read. Pity it lacks dates but you can check against the wiki, which does have dates but is missing the August patch.

Hopefully the know-it-alls can read that and stop making fools of themselves.

okay... the wiki lists the xbox version in what it literally is, then what it is when compared to the PC version, then the date of release. it's an entirely separate way of naming the updates. if you're looking at them or naming them with "TU#" then there have been 7 and the upcoming update in january will NOT be 8.  4J has stated this multiple times, every Title Update has it's own bug fix update before the next title update which are not labeled as Title Updates. we're not aggressive jerks who claim expertise in the update system, we just know how to read and comprehend.

IF 4J counted bug fix updates as title updates we'd be on Title Update 13, TU13, and the upcoming one in january would be TU14.

Possibly in TU 7 Bug fix they could add the End. According to this twwet, they said they we're working on adding the End to the current version: https://twitter.com/...517462116265984

Well, considering the fact that in strongholds we already find end portals that are inactive, TU8 will have the End along with bug fixes for TU7 since The End had stuff to fix, maybe the bug fixes were for the END that was supposed to be in TU7. I also think that TU9 will possibly have bug fixes or TU8 considering my strong feeling that The End will have some type of bug such as falling out of the world, or something wrong with Endermen, I don't know.

We have not had 7 Big 'Proper' updates.

We have had:
1.6
1.7.3
1.8.2
And what we are on now, 1.0.1

So if 4J did NOT count Bug fixes as Title updates, then this would be TU4 or TU3 if you didn't count the starting version.
