Really enjoying the aggressive jerks claiming expertise in the update system.
4J have counted the bug patches as title updates, and the first release of the game was actually title update 1 (it probably had a day one patch)
The patches often add a few minor features as well as bug fixes, so maybe that's how they justify it, eg TU6 added golden apples to the crafting menu.
The wiki lists the various updates but does not use the TU1-7 label on them, and I believe it is missing an August patch to the 1.7 version of the game, which when included in the wiki's list shows seven (7) versions of the game.
The game came out in May last year, roughly 8 months ago, and there has been a patch or update every month except September. Title update 8 would be due mid-to-late January if the system continues as normal.
However, what the update will contain (other than bug fixes) is anyone's guess.
Here's the version history. The sticky thread on this forum may have more info, haven't checked it.

EDIT:
Here is the best evidence that you are right or wrong, in 4Js own words, on this very forum for anyone to read. Pity it lacks dates but you can check against the wiki, which does have dates but is missing the August patch.

Hopefully the know-it-alls can read that and stop making fools of themselves.
