I was planning on buying a Radeon HD 7970 for my gaming PC. Should I wait until the next series and get the 8970 or buy now. My budget is tight so if the gpu is $500 (like the 7970 was) at release I can not afford that.. I am leaning more towards buying 7970 now, so should I buy now or wait?

Apple is like North Korea, they give their consumers crap products, isolate them from other platforms, and brainwash them into thinking they (apple) are amazing.

I am building a new pc, with a i5 3570 so I have Intel 4000.
if its the locked 3570 rather than the 3570K you should get an Intel Core i5-3450.
if your going to be running HD4000 get a GPU and as said oyu should go for a 7950 the 7970 is only about 5-10% more powerful for a significant premium. this would be a good one MSI R7950-2PMD3GD5/OC or a Gigabyte GV-R795WF3-3GD

More like 15-20%
Spoiler:
Fair enough got my percentages wrong still not worth the premium on the card a 7950 will still max any modern games and a minor overclock will bring it up to the same performance as a 7970
