Title says it all... almost.
Basically, in adventure mode, when you die, it is like hardcore, except instead of map deletion, the map resets itself back to its original, unaltered, form.
(If specified by the creator of course; it can be different...)
What Crying Obsidian does is "save" the map when powered by Redstone, and when the player dies, it will reset the map to that point.
This shall be an admin-only block (derp).
Multiplayer issues addressed: Have adventure "zones" that are separate from the rest of the server. Genius.
Simple but effective. Whatcha think?
*edit*
Better summary:
Automatic saving is disabled. This block, when powered, is the only way you can save the map.

Did you mean the spawnpoint will reset or the whole map will be like newly downloaded again?
Anyway... IT'S AWESOME!!!

You can use command blocks to reset spawn points. This acts a 'save' mechanism.
What it does is disable automatic saving of the map, meaning that you have to find a "save station" to save the entire map.
And for some reason, I really really REALLY don't like the command block, sure it is useful for some stuff, but there is a much more... customizable way.

Crying obsedian would get a nice use with this. The command blocks may work, too. But, I still think this is a good idea.
Support.

Shameless self-bump of shamelessness. This idea has potential, it seems, but not enough feedback.

Half support, because command blocks do half of this (resetting spawn point).

I think another block might be better for this, seeing as crying obsidian has already been cut. Maybe it could be a command added for the command block?

And I hate it when people say everything revolves around the command block, because there is a much more integrated way to do adventure map management. I'm not going to post it because the Minecraft community isn't ready yet.

The Crying Obsidian, as Jeb tweeted, might be added to the game again after he makes space in the textures.

Also, how hard would it be to expand the texture file?
