A map inspired by; 404 Challenge, Extreme Biomes and the size of the nether...
This is my first map which I have felt is decent enough to upload, I have spent time creating maps in the past and haven't bothered to finish them.
This map is 100% Vanilla, you do not need any mods or special texture packs to play it.
You wake up on the sands of an unknown shore, funnily enough you remember nothing but feel deja-vu..
Challenge Rules-
Spoiler:
You are not allowed to take any materials from structures like the starting zone, as in walls or flooring, crafting tables etc. The exception is a bed, contents of chests and item frames and torches.
You are not allowed to destroy the starting area until you complete the challenge.
Once you enter the caverns beneath, You are not allowed to leave until you complete the challenge list.
If you die, you fail the challenge.
If you stumble upon a cave while digging down before you follow the intro story (The intro story gives clues and information on where to enter the caves) you must block it up so that light cannot enter from above.
Before you enter the depths of this island, you are not allowed to build any structures.
You are not allowed to build 1x1 towers straight up to get to high places.
You MUST play on the lowest brightness, it adds atmosphere and makes it harder.
If you are using Rei's Minimap, please change view mode to chunks and turn your entities radar to off. Waypoint markers are allowed due to the size of this map system.
You are not allowed to enter the Nether or End.
Lastly, you must play on Hard mode.. it is a challenge after all.
Challenges- (start these after you enter the caves) (do these in order around the middle of the list)
Spoiler:
Smith a sword
Build a starting camp - must contain a crafting table, at least two furnaces, your bed and a light source
Create a wheat farm, increasing its size to whatever you want over time.. without this you will starve
Follow rope and try to find this old adventurer
Kill a spider
Build a full set of Iron Armour
Mine a tunnel through the side of a cave wall - must be two blocks wide and three blocks high
Build an outpost/watch tower at the end of this tunnel, to survey the area and keep watch.
-If building an outpost, must have a space of 4x4 on the inside, height doesn't matter, must be able to shoot arrows out and be safe from melee.
-If building a watchtower - must be the same as an outpost but on a tower 3 blocks or more, high. The tower must have a ladder on the inside and be safe from any attack whatsoever.
Either one, these need to be connected to the tunnel in a safe manner.
Build a bridge from one mountain to another, it needs to have cobblestone walls on either side and be 3 blocks wide.
Kill a skeleton
Build a bow
Add a small basement to your camp.
Put all camp chest storage in basement.
Go explore for a little while, mine and find a suitable spot for main base.
Slowly construct your base over time, it will be complete when it has;
-four large chests, a bed, crafting table, eight furnaces, five sources of light, three floors and a basement.
-It must have some sort of barrier, whether it is a wall of blocks, fences or walls it is up to you.
-It must have more than one entrance.
Kill a creeper
Find a diamond
Collect lava
Build a cobblestone generator, you never know when your base will be surrounded
Attain 50xp
Build a diamond pickaxe
Mine one or more obsidian
Build an Enchanting Table within the depths of your base
Use lava to light up you're bases entrance, be careful though
Build a diamond sword
Craft 20+ arrows
Kill a lava slime
Find a mineshaft
Craft full diamond armour
Kill a thunder creeper
Find and loot a dungeon
Enchant a single piece of you're diamond armour
Create an anvil
Create a water fountain
Create at least ten bridges
Use redstone for five things
Once you have completed all challenges, you may leave the caverns by the main entrance (not digging up) and turn the save file into a survival map, do whatever you want. You deserve it!
The island above the caves is pretty boring, but it is supposed to be a simple island, with nice beaches, forests and the old man's hut, that is all. I will probably add extra challenges in the future to complete once you finish the caves.
Looks good, but it's 9:12 in here, so I just downloaded it for tomorrow.
Thanks dude, just be sure to post what you think here. I would appreciate it, there is no bump button and I don't want this to become a dead topic.
You can see why, with the effort I put in.
