Let people have their religion. It's too sensitive of a subject to even bother with.

I believe in god, religion and the afterlife because.....well, why not? If theres no proof to suggest they don't exist, why go around pretending there is proof? I mean, I like to believe there is something completely nice and pure that watches over us and who tries to guide us down the right path. I also like to believe that all my lifes achievements won't go to waste.

Tectonics, look it up. What we mean by evidence of a great flood is things like mud layers indicating some world wide mass extinction event. Or a hidden resevoir that contains enough water to actually flood the water (Even if you melt all the ice in the world you still only raise the global sea level by about 100 meters)
