I'm kinda new to mods, but I know enough to install things. At least I think.

I've followed all the instructions, with a fresh .jar, and still it refuses to work.

Am I missing something?

Don't worry, i deleted the Meta-Inf as well.

Would someone be willing to give me a bit of tech support?

Also, will I be able to use optifine, and other mods on top of ModLoader and Bioms O' Plenty?

Especially the shader mods. That would be awesome.

OK. So I got it working. I dont know what the deal was before. But I'm using the fresh copy of the game, w/o any of my old saves or mods, or whatever.

But I still just dont understand how mods effect eachother.

I'd really like to know how to add more mods.

I just have modloader and biomes o' plenty at the moment.

I tried to use Magic Launcher and add optifine and the shader mod ... and it crashed. luckily i backed up the working biomes mod in a .jar.

Well guys, any tips?

I'd actually go with Extra Biomes XL. It only requires MC Forge (Universal Version), and all you have to do is put the .zip folder from the download link for EBXL in the "mods" folder under .minecraft.

If you don't know either, to install MC Forge, open both your minecraft.jar and MC Forge.zip.

Put EVERYTHING inside MC Forge into your minecraft.jar and delete the META-INF.

Now, just put the EBXL zip file inside the "mods" folder in your .minecraft directory.

Easy as pie! For all other forge compatible mods, you usually just have to put them in the folder as well. If the mod crashes your client, just delete it from the mods folder. No more force updating!

Merry Christmas!

Thank you!

Do you know of any mods i can bring into a multiplayer server, besides optifine?

Most Clientside mods are possible.
Sometimes do you need OP to use them. (ToManyItems as example)
And those mods wich add new blocks/items wont work unless the server has the mod installed too. The same counts for mods wich add only more recipes.
I frequently edit my posts, to fix misspelled words or rephrase some sentences. I also dive alot in the forum, quote me or i might never see your answer.
