A Day in Tuscarora

Posted Image

John Johnson was a competent businessman with a nice management job at a large financial firm in the big city, but when his latest scheme becomes more successful than he had imagined he finds his life turned upside down when he is forced to relocate to his old fashioned home town. Will John's big city life style impress his new peers, or will there be big problems in this small town?

Map Facts:

A Day in Tuscarora is an RPG style Minecraft Adventure map that, like Deja Vu, utilizes a, never before used adventure map game play mechanic in conjunction with a unique story line and setting to provide to player with an immersive, thought provoking, and highly entertaining experience. We really can't estimate how long it will take to play through because it plays like a 1980's/90's point and click adventure game. As of now, we highly recommend single player.

There are officially 4 endings to this map. 3 of them are good endings, 1 of them is the bad ending.

Official Trailer:

Rules:

There are only four rules in Tuscarora:
  • Don't break any blocks
  • Don't place any blocks
  • Don't switch your game mode
  • Play on Peaceful
It's really that simple!

Yet another map added to my "must-play" list... I'm hoping for something even more surprising and immersive than Deja Vu!

It's hard for us to make a call on how immersive or surprising our own map is, but we can certainly say it's different! Hope you get a chance to play it soon.

That may end up the first entry in this threads glowing reviews!

Updating to version 1.1. Only minor bug fixes, probably nobody will notice the difference.

...

Now Dotonmor will be 30% less original.

Great minds think alike, I suppose.

(And yes, I'm referring to the interactive story...) :(

Otherwise, looks...interesting. That's what I said about Deja Vu, though, so I'm sure this will be a good one.

I'm working on an RPG map myself. A very original one. I've always loved map making but never really found Minecraft's blocks and mechanics suitable to make an actual Role-Playing Game. But with the recent month's additions of Command Blocks and more customizations, I feel like that's really changed. I'll try this map to take a break from building. :)

If we're being honest here, we call it RPG/ADV because we don't really know what to call it...

Another fun thing we realized is that we'll be able to tell who filmed the map right away by the Christmas chests!

You'd be playing the role of the same character, you'd have to coordinate with each other, and you'd have to stick together at the end to win, but you can play it with two players. It's not so much that we discourage multiplayer,; we encourage singleplayer. That's the way it was built to be played. But it will work multiplayer.

Well that went quickly. I randomly found a cabin to sleep in, then someone woke me up for the festival. At least there were two full days, any earlier I wouldn't have even seen the (done-many-times-before) plot.
I have decided to have a bottomless spoiler as well, and am not the first but mine is bottomless (kinda).

I did play around a bit to find out what was wrong, because you should not be able to get to that cabin by accident, and eventually I had the glitch occur. It looks like this.

There's really nothing I can do about that, so that whole bit will have to be redesigned somehow to avoid randomly generated constant signals from nowhere (sigh...). We will fix it in the future, so your input is appreciated.

Glitch above has been given a patch up that's probably just a temporary fix. We will wait and seee

I never meant for that to come off as sass. I was joking more than anything, not trying to insult you.

I believe Vlad had similar problems in Chronotide. Use minecarts+detector rails to update the repeater. ;)

I apologize. When I typed that, I was annoyed by such a stupid redstone problem.

It should be ok now. That signal actually only has to go out that far once, essentially. It's one of a few that lead into an AND gate that trigger a switch that only happens right before you reach the end. So what I did is move the AND gate much closer to the center of the map so that the long part of the signal goes much less often giving much less time to glitch, and by the time people trigger it once, they will finish the map 90% of the time. Basically, it should be good enough for now, I'll leave it like it is now until we have reason for a major update or we have news of the same problem occuring.

With that said, anyone who downloaded it before today should redownload.
