Actually its very useful for me, I use it to fill holes that I make while caving, or to cover up lava that's too deep

Although I'm sure it has its uses, I never use it for that so yeah it is useless to me as well.

I like using it in the Nether to create shafts down to the Lava Sea. Can easily use up multiple stacks that way.

SKELLY xp/arrow/bone farm works far far better and faster, JS.  

ON topic, I know how you feel, I hate finding any when im mining, I tend to find huge deposits of it and it just goes on and on and on, therein is why I now use the shortcut(//removednear 13 10) through SPC's, wherein it removes all gravel in a ten block radius of the player, works wonders if you aren't standing on any.  I do the same with lava, so it undoubtedly is the most worthless item in the game for me.  P:

It's a cheap material so if you need something to suffocate the mobs or cover up a lava lake then Gravel is for you. How can you hate such a cute harmless block ?

Most of the paths in most of my worlds are based in a gravel path, surrounded by some other block (cobble stairs, or stone slabs...)

So... yeah, if you don't want gravel, you can give it to me. I never have enough...

One time I was so grateful for gravel.  I got shot off a ledge into a deep dark ravine, and battled my way through the zombies to the part that was open to sky.  I placed a torch and put gravel on top.  Then I noob-towered my way up, 40 gravels to the sweet light of day.

Later, when I tamed that ravine and lit it up, I broke the first piece of gravel, and the rest came down on the torch and popped right into my inventory.

I like gravel. I use it to get past lava lakes and to farm flint.

Gravel was useful to me but so hideous looking until I started playing in Sphax recently. I love the way Sphax depicts it, and my eyes can rest easy as I dump it into lava oceans, retrieve flint for arrows, expand NPC villages or my own and so on, .

Well, gravel itself if useful, but when you are mining, than a ton of gravel falls on you...

It's not that bad... I know I have my uses for it.

And if you hate it because it involves working to clear it, just dig out the bottom one with a torch and place the torch as it falls. Why waste time shoveling?

I don't hate gravel but I usually refrain myself from digging gravel as it could fill my inventory slots.
