Actually, secular morality is far superior to biblical morality. Infanticide and genocide is a-ok with the Christian God as long as he said to do it. Divine command as a moral code is a very dangerous path to go down. The reason we are in a more sensible era right now is because of global media and the decline of fundamentalism.

God or a magical fairy whatever you want to call it has never told me to kill anyone and I don't want to kill anyone anyway.

God probably hasn't told anyone anything. But many people think he has and an unfortunate amount do think god tells them to kill people. Even the bible has verses were it commands people to be killed.

What do you think you'd do if God did tell you to kill someone?
What do you think about having a thieving goblin in the game? Go here and voice your opinion.

I probably kill a person because I think it's wrong.

You'd kill a person because you think it's wrong? You lost me there.

I'm sorry to hear that, I really am.

What I'd like to know is why you believe in God? I grew up as a christian, and I can say I was practically brainwashed into thinking that if I didn't believe in God, I'd be sent to hell for "eternity". Do you realise how much the bible contradicts itself? And do you really think it's realistic to believe that there's a 'God' out there, that has always been there and will always be there? Does it not sound a little far fetched?

religion needs wise people for it to be any good, when stupid freaks handle it its like giving nukes to retarded cockroaches... very bad VERY BAD.....

most religions are great at their very core (I can only speak about two "celestial" ones...Islam, Christianity.. did not read about anything else...yet), preaching wisdom and peace and loads of good stuff.... but sadly when such powerful ideas reach the hands of morons it can turn ugly really fast..

so I say this, at this stage and time, religions are BAD for society cause in general cave men still rule the world.

I still think that "religions" is a little vague term, since there is a religion for everybody in the world. Buddhism, for an example, is not bad. However, if we are only talking about religions that have major impacts on politics, I agree.

Dat, grammar
His message was good. We don't need verbose sentences about Spongebob Squarepants.

Ignorance proves the existence of God.

Still the same God. So obviously some people have thought God asked them to kill people.

Indeed,in the Old Testament,God used brutal force and violence to make people belive in him.Remember the Talion principle?(eye-for-an-eye).In the New Testament, this principle no longer exists.
It will eat you!

That you seem to be arguing against a point that was never made.

I'm glad I grew up an athiest. I've heard a few conversations about the bible, it sounds like 'God' does more harm than good.
Religion sounds like it does more harm than good, and I don't understand why some people actually believe it strongly. I feel as if it ruins their life and only makes them think of religion.

In my point of view, the problem seems to be that it is pretty hard to determine in which cases you actually can make someone's religion responsible for his good or bad actions... When can you blame the people and when can you blame religion?

Religious murdering is usually just a way for violent people to make excuses to their consciences.

Religion generally doesn't ruin peoples lives, in some cases it makes them even better. If people want to believe in God/gods and it makes them happy, who should we be to tell them to live differently? Obviously, aslong as they're not doing any harm or forcing their belief upon someone.
