I have made a suggestion just for Rainbow sheep now.

Rainbow Sheep: Rainbow sheep are a very rare sheep that is the color rainbow obviously, when you shear it you will get a random wool like red or green. You can also get a rainbow sheep by breeding 2 different colored sheep like blue and green and get a rainbow sheep but it is very rare.

Rainbow sheep are similar to normal sheep drops 1-3 wool you get 1 - 3 wool of that color it dropped, for an example because most people won't understand what I said before lets say you shear the rainbow sheep and it drops red wool when you shear it and it drops 2 wool you will get red wool for that time you sheared it does not drop like 1 red wool 1 blue wool 1 grey wool it will drop that same color for those 2.

(Even my example you might not understand)

This was the only thing I supported on the other thread, so I'm throwing my support on here. Is there a chance to get one of these by breeding different colored sheep?

Yes there is a chance of breeding 2 different colored sheep to get a rainbow sheep.
I'll add that to the rainbowsheep description.

A cool little idea, and simple to integrate.

Maybe breeding two Rainbow Sheep together could result in any of the rainbow colors of sheep (not the actual skittle sheep), making the Rainbow Sheep semi-rare.
Completed maps: Sunburn Islands, Nightmare Realm, Uncharted Territory III, Inferno Mines (pending)
Currently playing: Infernal Sky II, The Fire Beneath

Currently playing: Terraria, Spelunky

Nice idea although what would they look like? White sheep with dots of colour? Stripy caterpillars?

My idea of what they look like is Millbee's Rainbow sheep skin that is partially where I got the idea from.

Do you have an actual video to show? I looked around on the channel and there was... a lot of videos. But iirc in 1.5 we are supposedly getting animated texture support so it could be like a shimmering rainbow loop effect if that is what you mean.

YES.
Although; if you sheared a rainbow sheep, what color of wool would it drop?

As it said in the OP, you get a random color.

There's already a rare sheep , it's the Pink one. Also, implementing a sheep that drops a random colored wool will be really useless.
It's more useful to use a dye on a sheep and get alot of colored wool.

Just to play Devil's Advocate:

Why? When most people shear sheep, they either need to craft something (no color needed) or they want to build some pixel art. For Pixel art, they want specific colors. So, why have a rainbow sheep?

---

Personally, I support either way. But, I would like to know why you suggested this idea.

It is a way to get any color of wool in a fun way.
Anyway you could use rainbow sheep to get stacks of the wool you need and other kinds of wool for other pixel art creations after getting a bunch of rainbow sheep.

but seems fun, support!

It seems like just a small easter egg, it would be pretty cool but at the same time utterly pointless. Maybe if you shear them you get 3 random colored wools?

I think maybe Rainbow sheep could be implementedin the Xmas update as hinted in the snapshot files. Imagine a sheep on skis.
