They're about as rare if not slightly rarer than Overworld zombie pigmen. Namely because creepers despawn and only spawn at night, but pigs spawn night and day and never despawn so there's more of a chance for lightning to hit a pig rather than a creeper.

oh yeah, almost forgot about that...>< Thanks for reminding me...lol

I've never seen a charged creeper, zombie pigman (pig struck by lightning method) nor have I ever been struck by lightning myself either :o I must be lucky but very unlucky at the same time

I've come VERY close to being struck by lightning in terms of it striking almost on the block next to me D: same goes seeing the occasional passive mob have that happen too, but even both of those are rare for me! So the chances of me seeing a charged creeper are probably next-to-never really :( it would be more possible for me to get Minecraft on the PC and get whatever mods that let you strike lightning bolts manually yourself using a key, then just simply find some creepers to make it happen! but in terms of 'legit' non-modded ways, still probably wouldn't ever see it...

What you could do is make a wool wall and make a creeper stand in top of it... which may be impossible.

I have seen one only once. Spider Jockeys are more common than people think. Charged creepers are, as my friend put it, sexy-pro kool.

Thanks for all these posts guys! I'm still trying to find one myself...
Come to think of it, all the times it has rained in my world (5? 6?), I haven't even seen lightning.

One reason I have mentioned it being quite random when it rains. Even on my worlds, including my primary one, it seems to rain a lot, however not all are actually lightning storms. Seems to vary with each rain spurt that trinkles my way.

If you really wanted to see one, just look up doc77's channel on youtube and well he makes a mob thing especially tune for that purpose. Although it still will be a long wait regardless, as he mentions. lol

One of these days I will make a mob machine, eventually...><

Quite the experience, if I do say so myself.
Almost made a mess in my trousers.

To the OP, I have no idea. I have never seen one.

Ah yeah completely forgot about the Spider Jockey's too D: my bad haha! But yeah I have actually seen those on like two or three occasions, of which one of those was when I was actually near enough to attack one, but the other was just seeing it from a distance and by the time I made a move from my base to go over and attack it, it was gone Posted Image I'd say theres maybe more of a chance of seeing one of them than seeing a charged creeper or a zombie pigman spawned from a pig being struck my lightning!

I had the most bizzare thing happen with my wolf on my original main world, where I was down alone in my slime farm rooms at bedrock level, and upon hearing the very first strike of thunder from above, my wolf was suddenly teleported down next to me and on fire before it then died O_o Posted Image made me jump a bit too when I suddenly got nudged and turned around to see my wolf on fire right behind me :| at the time the lightning struck, my wolf was indoors inside my base/house, so the only explanation I can think of is that stuff above ground level had temporary unloaded whilst I was deep down underground, all apart from the wolf maybe? which in turn was somehow struck by the first bolt of lightning to hit during a storm that was starting! This was back before 1.8.2 too, so passive mobs would spawn/despawn as normal and I'm assuming that as the wolf was tamed by me, then it probably wouldn't unload in that case?

That is pretty crazy. In all of the other games I have played, when I look away it seems the other parts of the game are unloaded, disappearing. It might be possible that they unloaded as you were down there, only the dog staying there. It seems pretty likely. I have no other explanations. maybe you could test it again if it works (Dumb idea, Ender).

Yeah it was a completely weird glitch of some sorts anyway :| the weird thing is anytime I've been in the same setup/condtions before, I've never had it happen at all before! So it must have been some rare thunderstorm that makes your wolf get struck and teleport down to you? :P
