I can't wait to see where you'll take this, though I do miss Taint, I can't make my old arcane factory anymore, but I think it's worth it!
Well he did say a new version is coming out soon. I too have to agree that taint is one of the things I am hoping for too. Not so much because of its use, but mostly because it made the world look "nice" in a way =p
Yknow, After some thought, I'm putting the Runespan on the back burner for a considerable while now. I've burned myself out with big constructions.
Which begs the question guys - Any suggestions for what I could do now, if I make a new world?
Mine out a 16 x 16 x 16 cavern, with the floor at Y-level 16. Then use wool blocks or warded stone to "paint" the walls to look like the surface (green/brown floor, blue ceiling with white clouds and a yellow "sun").
Alternately, make an undersea dome, and set up a forest and functioning farms down there Nevermind, I'm taking that suggestion myself.
The only thing that would make this better is something after the theory of everything.
The mod isn't complete yet. I don't know exactly how much more the Tentacled One is planning to add, but I'd guess we've only got something like 40% of the full content, so far.
From what I've heard from various FTB stream, the next update will end up being very heavy in durability use and some od Azanor's special enchantment might reuturn (self repair, and something else). I'm suggesting a recipe for what would be the next "thaumic repairer". Think of it as an avil, except that it uses vis to power it (with usual flux chance per repair) and mabey by feeding it quicksilver the machine will speed up. The actual recipe would need an anvil in the center, thaumium to the sides an below along with a shard on top and something else to occupy the cornes (you guys think of that). research aspect would be armor, weapon, machanism, and magic (add more if you want). The machine would also be a double as a way to infuse vis back into our various wands. Well I got to go, I check in later and what all you guys have done to this idea, if you do see it.

I left the enderman to observe and emulate the steves, I want to know more about them. Wish me luck.
I was just thinking. Since the brains-in-a-jar can store exp, couldn't we also have some other use for jars, like storing items?
My idea is not so very different from the barrels. I've forgotten what mod they're from though.
Anyway, you enchant the jar into a storage-jar in the infusion altar. Each storage jar can take a large number of one item. You left click with an item in hand to store the entire stack of that item, and left-click to take out one at a time. Shift + left-click takes out a whole stack.
Storage-jars can be connected with glass tubes through the lid. If a glass tube is connected to a crucible, throwing an item into that crucible will instead of dissolving the item into aspects, transport it to either an empty storage-jar or to a jar filled with more of that item.
The tier 1 of the storage-jar research requires you to manually get the items back from the jars, but further research opens up for a device that can be connected to the same network of pipes. Right-clicking this device brings up a menu of all the items you have stored, and lets you extract them easily.
I've seen many sorting machines in youtube lets-plays, but I always find them too advanced to even start consider making.
The positive thing about this system is that it's easy to understand and build. The downside is that it's rather inefficient when it comes to space. Especially if you play with mods that add heckloads of new items (FTB) and you want to make a sorting system for everything, you'd have to build a very large facility for it.
That is, unless storage-jars would be able to hold more than one type of item. The tier 2 of the storage-jar research could open up for the crafting of a jar capable of storing up to eight different items (working with the numbers 4-8-16-32-64)
What do you guys think? Personally I would love to see an easy-to-make sorting system for once. I know I can make that with golems, but I'd rather not crowd up my base with fifty golems that all start running around all over the place whenever I get back from an adventure.
Id suggest installing the transport part of powercraft if you want a simple sorting system. I dont know why anyone would spend hours making something thats supposed to save them time.
I feel a bit silly. I've been racking my brain for something interesting and original to use in the aboveground portions of my lab. Then I saw them use IC2's construction foam on the Mindcrack FTB server. Prefab wizard's tower? Seems legit.

Oh, so THAT'S what that was? I thought you'd just started adding peppers to them.
That made me lol so much xD
And does anyone else think that we need a mod or something that adds cloud like blocks? Like, ones that are semi-translucent, generates in the sky and such? Because I have seen some mods with cloud-like blocks, but they add too much of everything else... x.x

Maybe a different cloud for each essentia? Each having different colors, attributed and effects on the environment! :3
Btw... I was thinking about "installing" a note block song under meh home when I finally get around to building it, but I haven't read a music sheet in so long I don't remember how to read the notes anymore (last song I did was the whole Harry Potter theme back in Middle School when our Middle School band had to be the high School' band to... I play the Xylophone... x.x)
Is there an MP3 or other actual song file? Because I am awful at reading sheet music but I can play just about anything by ear if I have a few hours and reasonable motivation / boredom of everything else, and then I can translate it into note blocks. You'd have to work out the timing mechanisms yourself because I also am horrible at redstone XD but I could give you the notes to play and the gaps between notes. Minecraft wiki has a good guide to the number of clicks per pitch.

As for cloud blocks,
InfiCraft: Flora and Soma.
I don't know any downloads that are completely legal .. But I found a video of the version I want to do if that helps:
And Thankies for letting me know about the Flora & Soma clouds... I thought InfiCraft was all about tools! To bad the Armory one is not being updated anymore...
Equivalent Exchange, four gold for a diamond.

however only the offencive skills are availible curently so no wolfmounts yet

ANYWAY. In response to that underground overworld thingy, I can ACTUALLY paint the place as opposed to using wool. I have the Paintgun mod, so yeah o:
Oh right, I keep forgetting about that. My minium stone's mostly just a portable crafting table right now >_>

Because it's fun.
That. I mean, obviously, if I'm taking the time to build one I've got nothing else to build, right?
That made me lol so much xD

There's an idea.
Condense some essentia into clouds.

If anyone wants to "translate" it to me, here is the linky to the music sheet: http://sebastianwolff.info/download/elfen-lied/Elfen Lied - Lilium.pdf
