Yes, that's the point. A cold war existing is a shame, but not a reason to continue spending $700 billion when it isn't needed.

The military's budget has no use. Even if it were to be cut in half, it would still have enough money to outspend the next military by a factor of 3:1. This is a fact.

The social programs have a use. They are used to increase the standards of living, to decrease poverty, to increase life expectancies,  and provide an overall more pleasant life to the citizens of the nation.


You can disagree based on your opinion, but these are objective facts.

It is actually currently 1:1 (you know, 50% ), but even 0.5:1 is absurd for one country. It's over 1:1 if you include the USA's allies, of course.

Are you saying the DoD does not improve people's lives? where is your evidence that the DoD is wasting so much money?

Ignoring the fact that you haven't provided any sources, that is irrelevant to my point. Medicare has a use. The DoD currently does not.

Do you think Iran is going to plan a full scale invasion of the US? Or China?
Because they won't, the first option is basically suicide and the second is irrelevant because China and The US depend on each other.
Cut the Military budget and use it on Healthcare, NASA and Education something your country needs, not to make sure a nonexistent threat will destroy your home.
