You are going to just run the bat file or the run file that is also included in the download. That will start the server.
And you dont want to rename craftbukkit.jar to craftbukkit. If you have it set to show extensions, which is the jar, then editing the filename to the craftbukkit may cause it to not work correctly.
As long as you rename the jar to anything and leave the .jar at the end, you can name it anything, like bob.jar will work as long as the file that is used to run the server is changed to use the new name, which means you have to open that file and edit it by hand.
Usually just leaving it as is is the safest things.
Extract the files to a folder and try it. Your issue is that your files are still in the zip folder, so even if you edit the bat file, you cannot start it anyways.
Me too. Any help? :sad.gif: I tried changing the craftbukkit.jar to just craftbukkit, no help for my shitty computer. Any other methods that don't involve too much? I'm not exactly a computer freak :/
i have a error Problem with running craftbukkit To

i had this problem for a while but then i was messing around with it and realised that it wouldn't read my files inside it because it was using the wrong program.
so i changed it to use winRAR and it still wouldn't work.
but then i named it craftbukkit.jar and it didn't work then.
but then i changed it to just craftbukkit because i was bored and didn't know what to do, and what do you know it works.
didn't read the whole post though this seems to work for me rename the craftbukkkit dot jar file to craftbukkit.jar. When you download it it will hav a load of rubbish at the end like R.01 or something. Hoped that helped!!

You are going to just run the bat file or the run file that is also included in the download. That will start the server.
