--==Distant Lands Arena==--

Distant Lands is an Arena style map with full featured Redstone powered engine behind it. Traverse your way through the Arenas as the enemies take chase and hunt you down. Can you make it through to the end? Are you tough enough to make it?

Features:

• Fully operable Shopping system, utilising the levels and Command Blocks introduced in 1.4
  
• 5 uniquely styled progressive arenas, increasing in difficulty the further you get
  
• Spawn room and difficulty settings
  
• Expandable! New Arenas and features will be added.
  
• Death system and a penalty for dying, this is no cake walk
  
• Multiplayer supported (in 1.0a), allows you to play with your friends with more enemies to face

This is the first map that I have created, and every block has been placed by hand (or with the help of MCEdit and WorldEdit) so I still have lots to learn.
With the ability of easy expansion to this arena map and a dedicated map creator, new arenas are planned and will be released often to keep the map fresh.

Support, bugs, and suggestions can be posted into this topic. I would love to hear from you if you play the map, any comments, criticisms or lets play videos are welcome, and I will feature your videos in this post! If you would like your map to be featured in this arena please don't hesitate to contact me.

I create maps for fun, not for profit, so you are welcome to download these maps completely free of charge and adf.ly ads will not disturb you. You may modify this map as much as you wish, however if you plan on releasing your changes, please allow room to add my name to your list of credits

A quick reminder:
This map will run on Minecraft 1.4 and up.
Additions to the map will occur and will be regularly released, check this thread for more information
With the planned changes to Redstone in 1.5, I do plan to keep the map up to date, however it may take some time

Added a new version:
1.0a
Adds Multiplayer support. You should now be able to play with your friends on a harder difficulty! Or if you prefer a hard solo challenge, try switching to multiplayer, you'll regret it
Also reduced the death penalty slightly

Right about to try it, also, I watched a little bit of AntVenoms Vid, and the pork was a bit expensive, So, I suggest reducing the price of the pork to like, 2 xp levels.

Added version 1.0b:
- Fixes text in Cave Map
- Lowered the cost of Pork and the potions
- Removed Apples (Apples and Watermelon were basically the same thing
- Added Milk to assist with the annoying witches - cost 1 level per bucket

The next version (labelled version 1.1) is going to include hardcore mode!

I would love to see more videos of the map from people, I enjoy watching other people play this map I've map and see what techniques people use to beat the levels

Ant is filling in for CavemanFilms, who's having a hard time getting over the passing of his mother.

Anyway, great map! I especially love the way you exploited the 1.4 technology. One of the most well-organised pure mob fighting maps I've ever played.

I have watched antvenom play this and its great! Im downloading it now and I understand why u must die to get back to ur current arena. You set the new spawn and then it will take you to ur arena! Correct?

Well, cavemanfilms' mother has recently died so Ant is helping cave by making more videos.

Thats right. It's the same concept as SethBlings TF2 and other maps he's made. Theres no way to determine your spawnpoint besides dying, so this is a good way to use 1 button to teleport you to each arena

Not only that but there are multiple spawn area's being used and it can be tricky to determine where to go at each time, so to avoid ending up at the death penalty point, spawnpoints are used before teleporting to the shopping hall

I love it. Great map, defiantly worth downloading. I finished it in easy, now I need to try normal and hard.
