The Coin Slot! Activate Redstone with a payment!


After my other suggestion went into downfall, I decided to post the other idea of mine I had. This would be a Redstone related block that powers when an adequate payment is right-clicked into it from the front. The item of payment could be chosen along with the profits from an access panel at the back. There could be a display on the front of the block that shows what item should be used to pay with, sort of like an Item Frame.

This could be useful on servers and -maps for trading, CTMs and of course, Slot Machines.

Please give constructive feedback and criticism. None of that "O MA GAD DIS IS SO AWSOME!" or "O MA GAD DIS IS SO STPID!", please. It is not appreciated.

Sounds like a cool thing. So, you right click it, put the item in, it takes the item, and then it outputs a redstone current. Could use some work, but I wouldn't mind seeing it added.

I don't know, if this could be used for gambling then it would almost be promoting gambling to children who play minecraft.

On the other hand, I would love to have toll booths in my medieval server so that people need to pay to enter different counties...

Love the idea, great for adventure maps, like this post-apoc one that i'm making, would be perfect!

Good idea.Could be used for many,many things!
So you could set it to different settings like:

Slot machine,pay X amount of Y,receive random amount of Y or none.

Trader,pay X amount of Y,receive X amount of Y.

Redstone lock,pay X amount of Y and the block sends a redstone signal

(X is a number,Y is an item)
Like that?It would be kinda amazing,yus.

Gambling? Maybe the Coin Slot would need an age rating, then. Dayum.

Yup. I'm sure Adventure Maps, etc., would get that little extra degree of epic with this.

Even though your concept is different, I posted this awhile back http://www.minecraft...9742-the-slots/.  I get the jest of the idea but please go into more detail because I don't fully understand unless it's simply your put an equal amount in and something comes out...something like that.  Please give a bit more detail.

Actually, the two suggestions are very different. Your one is about a type of dispenser that gives you random blocks; my one is an actual Coin Slot.

So what yours does is a person can control what is spit out from the back while the person in front uses redstone and hopes for a good item to pop out. Right?

No, in my one, no item pops out at all. You put items in, and you can take them out at the back, but no items pop out.

There is a block like that's that has been suggested called the acolit or something but in that block it freely puts that item into a chest so the same thing.

So now this is a cash register?  I'm sorry I can't support something if I don't know what it is or how it works, and if you don't care enough to give a proper explanation.  I've read your opening post as well as every other post numerous times and I still don't understand what this is.  And if what I do think it is, is it, then it's useless to Minecraft.  But I don't know what it is.

Also, there are numerous mods for what I think this is.  Easier to get the mod then to add in game is my suggestion.
