How old is the netbook? what os is currently on it? do you even want windows 8? Have you tried it out to see if you like the new metro ui? Windows 8 is personal preference, why are you asking us? It is like asking us what your favourite colour should be.

Its also important to note that windows 8 can't run Minecraft so I think it would be better to use windows 7.
Sorry i cant give much more info.

A good chunk (read: pretty much every single metro app) of it requires the screen resolution be above a certain point. No netbooks are above this, so the apps will not run. The main features of the OS will be nigh useless.

Free + Crabs + Ability to trample/suffocate opponents in Cortex Command = Free Bombs.

- The 1024x600 screen resolution means that most Metro Apps won't open as the require 1024x768 minimum. Still using the desktop mainly, so not an issue. You can connect to an external monitor, to configure the Apps if you need to.
- Windows 8 driver for the integrated graphics didn't support OpenGL so no Minecraft. I grabbed the latest Windows 7 drivers and all was well.

If Metro wasn't forced full screen, we wouldn't have this problem. *cough cough*
