Very basic mods, no spreading fire and no melting ice for single player .

I created these MODS so I could work on a server map, in single player. They will save you the grief of finding that lava or fire has distroyed your build and that your ice windows have melted and made a mess of things.

Now Forge  /  Modloader compliant

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please read through the posts for other solutions to install these mods using different profiles.

For manual installation, read up on how to edit the .json file in your versions dir..this is not recomended, unless you know what your doing. !!! I recommend using a launcher.

Works in Windows / Mac OS X / Linux

The source code is included for those people who wish to compile it them selves or are
suspicious by nature I know I am.

Magiclauncher with Forge 1.4.7 example , ignore the error with Fire mod

In the case of the errors in this mod list , Magiclauncher complains about conflict of class files or CRC but the mods all work.

Also, this hardly seems worth it to download?

To whom are you directing your wisdom?

Just drop one or both mods into you minecraft.jar file.

Spoiler:

This is really great work. Simple yet gets the job done. I could see an option in World Downloader where you select options like "No TNT detonate", "No Ice Melt", "No Fire Spread" and it will save those options in the single player file. Of course you would need to be using the WDL mod to play those single player files offline unless you wanted to install the modified block components separately. What do you think if I added these as options in WDL? I would probably only do it once it's working with Forge. (which I'm looking into now).

I'm In Favor of that, I like to install my mods and not worry till the next update.

Don't come crying when your builds burn down or get flooded. And that saying is getting old. I gave everyone the source code

Bukkit Servers push there own rule sets and usually Firespeard and ice melting are turned off . If your running a lan game then this is a great plugin to stop fire and ice from ruining your builds or if you have to work on a server map in SP.

It works by changing the rules for these 2 blocks client side , so your protected either way

I am curious, since i used a mod that removed Firespread, but since forge checks during playtime, it kept crashing with the error of -Something-.class and i had to remove it. Is this one of those mods that just edited that class?

Yes the variables were changed in the origional class. You can download the source and take a look. The Mod can't crash the client, as only the variables were changed. To install this along side forge using Magiclauncher , make sure it is in the list below Forge. If your crashing, look at the other mods. If your putting the mods into your client manually add them last, incase something over writes it. Test in single player by placing fire and lava next to blocks that burn. Test Ice by placing next to heat source

Like any mod, it's important to put it in the right order. If your using Magiclauncher and Forge, make sure it's below Forge, You should see that the Fire mod gives an error, this is normal. Like i said before, Once the mods are installed, test it on a fresh dummy map.If it doesn't work rearrange your mods. If your using MCPatcher or some other launcher you'll have to test where they go in the list.If your putting mods into the client manually, they go last

Remember Test, Test and Test some more.

I install it manually, after all the other mods. It does work, but also crashes my game after like 15 seconds in the game (sometimes even less!) Should i try installing it with MCpatcher? Or should i install it first instead of last? IS there any known incompatibility issues? Not using a lot of mods, and none of them changes stuff about fire nor ice, so i don't really understand why my game keeps crashing with it...

I'm going to recommend Magiclauncher for  installing your mods. If you install manually there are to many things that can go wrong including the corruption of the jar file. I have found that for the Novice that Magiclaucher is the best choice. These mods wouldn't cause any issues. If you use one of the other launchers you'll have to find the order to your mods.

Just to be safe, refresh your minecraft and start with a clean game. Then use Magiclauncher to add your mods. It even has a test mode in the settings so as you add your mods you can test the game

One question though: are you sure it's compatible with Minecraft Forge? When i put it into MC patcher, it said that it will replace a forge file with this one, so i think this may be the issue. I also tried to put this before forge in the installation line, but then it just does nothing.

Place the Fire and Ice after forge, as I said before Magiclauncher will show you a CRC error in the menu
Arrange your mods and you wont have to worry until 1.5 is out

Updated to Minecraft 1.5 Final

There will be a 1.5.1 Final in the next few days and I'm 100% sure there won't be a Bukkit build until all the Bugs are fixed. In the meantime Enjoy 1.5 :)

Just downloaded the files un zipped them and added them to my mod's folder (multiMC - instance folder - the instance i want it on - minecraft - mods) But when i launch that instance it all works but these 2 mod's don't load. It says 66 mod's active in the bottom while it should be 68 and when scrolling throw the mod's tap on the lauche screen it does not list them either.
Not really sure what i'm doing wrong all the other mod's just load with out a problem.
