I was thinking that Tropical Islands should be added to the game. These islands would be found in the ocean (of course.) These islands would have beaches that are bigger than normal. There would be jungle-like foilage. Around the shore of the islands sponge would be found. This would be a good way to introduce sponge into Survival Mode.
As you can see in the picture the layout would be like that. The island would be bigger than in the picture, I just didn't feel like expanding it. Also the new biome would have a sub-biome called Tropical Island Shore. That would be where the sponge spawns.
Tell me what you think
Maybe... Though I think sponge. (Due to its uses and how its used. ) Should be harvested underwater. (Preferably by using the enchantment to extend how long you can stay underwater.)
Maybe they can "Break off" in storms and be pushed by the "tide" onto the beaches of these islands where they grow on the blocks between water and sand?
Though if tropical islands were added. I think natural occurences should be added like whirlpools. (That treat your character like a gravel block and should you touch it you just get sucked straight down. ) maybe waves that can push and harm too. Why not add in coconut trees too? Random chance of the coconuts dropping when you walk under the tree to cause 1 heart damage!
Also...heat! Tropical islands tend to be horrible due to the sun reflecting off the water on to you and straight down on to the hot beaches. maybe if you wear armor on these islands you'd take damage? Or your fullness bar would deplete a fair amount faster?

Sponges, whirlpools, dangerous trees, and heat. No support.
(What would sponges do? Soak up water like in classic? meh.)
Palm trees sound good, but not with falling coconuts, that's just silly, why wouldn't you take damage from falling branches from other types of trees? It would be neat if you could think of a use for coconuts (which could grow like cocobeans?)
Here's a recipe, S for string, C for coconuts, E for empty

PS This thread is probably in danger of being closed due to being redundant (though I appreciate the concept picture!)
I don't think it will there are more terrain threads than this and as long as those aren't closing I don't think this one will. Lol
Fair enough, I forgot to add in my last post that in general I support this idea both under the category of more ocean content and the category of general biome diversity.
(speaking of ocean content though, I hope we - they - never "fill up" oceans with junk, the vast open spaces are what make oceans oceans, but little gems like these islands would sure be fun to find!)

Almost 95% of the things you added are next to impossible to add to MC.
OT: I like it, it kills two birds with one stone, adds sponge and adds a bit more content to Ocean Biomes. I support.
