I am on a mac, and I am trying to find where my name and password are stored. It is saved locally, so it must be SOMEWHERE, right?

I have gotten as far as Library>Application Support>minecraft

but can't find it from there.

I need to find it because my client crashes and fails a lot and I am constantly going in and taking all my saving my data before deleting and redownloading. It has been several months since I played and I forgot my password, and want to find an easier way of locating it than having to go through all the e-mail trouble.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure where it is on Mac, since I don't use it, because I'm not wanting to get aids.
But I'm fairly certain it's in the %appdata%\.minecraft\lastlogin file on Windows.
Just translate the directory to MacOSAIDS.

I found the lastlogin file, but being a bit of a technotard, I don't know how to translate it to MacOSAIDS.

Though it is full of stuff that makes no sense to me, that should probably be translated.

Oh no... I meant the directory not the file.
The text inside the file is encrypted, just copy the entire file over.
OH I see, you are trying to recover your password FROM the file.

I don't believe that is possible, you would be better off just having it reset to your email.

But it would be so much easier to not have to find it next time because I could just copy and paste the document like I do with my world saves...
