"This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers."

Then your videocard isn't supported. Have you also tried force updating the client? Might be a corrupt .jar.

Some Intel GPU's aren't supported by OpenGL.
You'll need another GPU then.

Make sure you DON'T use the windows update drivers. Go to intel's site and download it from there.
Got my GTS 450 running at 900 MHz core (http://www.ozone3d.n...0.php?id=114106)

MasterMM, here is the issue. You are using windows 8. There are no drivers for your card for windows 8.
You are going to need to trick it into using the windows 7 drivers.

These drivers: http://downloadcente...=18231&lang=eng

Then follow this, selecting the drivers from Intel.

If you have installed windows 8 drivers for your graphics card from the manufacturers site. (www.amd.com or www.intel.com or www.nvidia.com), but the game still doesn't work, Windows is overriding the drivers. You need to manually override them.
  • Go to Control Panel
  • Go to Device Manager (You may have to change the view of control panel to see this)
  • Expand Display Adapters by clicking on the arrow
  • Right click your graphics card and select Properties, for example, mine was named AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200
  • Go to the Driver tab
  • Click Update Driver
  • Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
  • Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
  • Select the driver that is NOT from Microsoft Corporation
  • Click Next
  • It should now install the driver software, this may take a few minutes. During the proccess your screen will go black, but it should come back shortly after, this is because in order for your computer to change your driver, it must uninstall the old driver which displays graphics on your screen
  • You have successfully changed the driver of your computer, you should not need to restart, however, if you are still failing to play, do so now
