So the one thing I would definitely like more of is biomes. One idea that I think would be really cool is mountain biomes. Extreme hills are the most fun (in my opinion), but they don't really go all that high, it's just crazy complicated hills. The Y-axis goes all the way to 128 right? And the extreme hills typically stops at 100 or so... so I know it would be a huge update, but why not expand the limits to 256, and create new biomes that accommodate this? Another one that would be good in this update is floating islands.
Some of the ideas for new types of ores could be used in these extremely high altitudes, just like diamonds only appear so low, you could have some ores that only appear so high.
Just me personally, I find being super high up the best part of the game.

I would LOVE to see mountains enter MC. Just about all I do is find ways up the big hills they have, and then find ways back down. It's very entertaining.
Support for the new biomes.

I like this idea, I would love to see a biome where the mountains are actually realistic, and something worth noting is that this biome should include trees, kind of like foresthills except mountains
Creeper Hugging, Its fun but it might be the last fun thing you do

This has been oversuggested to hell.
I'm not a big fan of these sort of ideas. After all, why should mountains be restricted to one biome in the first place?

The idea of not limiting mountains to one biome is a cool idea. Just like you can have rivers anywhere, it would be cool to implement a mountain in that way too. so you could have a "forest mountain" biome, and a "taiga mountain" biome. totally worth doing.

...because mountains normally occur along a fault line or are a result of volcanic activity? Look at an actual map of our world...mountains have their own biome.

Seems good, but honestly, if this thread doesn't get developed and organized it will go nowhere. A new biome will never be simply put in with a convincing 1 paragraph.
Really, I don't even like most of the suggestions I see, but I tell the posters things to do to spruce it up a bit. This is barebones minimum. Please expand.
(I'd love mountains, but I don't know from this post how to implement them.)
(Anyone else see the rage john went on? Thats like 10 posts locked up, same message. XD)

Minecraft at its best. OMEN.
