"Connection refused: connect"
We've done this dozens of times before with no problem. Wirelessly connecting to the same router as usual, one pc is Vista and the other is Win 7. But like I said, we've done it dozens of times before between these two pc's in the same situation. Any ideas out there?

Step one, get into the cmd by running cmd in Run, or typing cmd in the search bar
Step two, type in ipconfig into cmd
Step three, find the IPv4 adress in the local area network. Do the other one if the first one does not work after trying this.
Step four, turn on Minecraft and open your world to lan.
Step four, take the IP it gives you, and change the 0.0.0.0 to the first four number things in the IPv4 IP, so like if the IPv4 was 100.100.100.100:556565, change the 0.0.0.0 to 100.100.100.100 and keep the last 5 numbers, like :25565 in.
Step four, tell the others on the other computers to direct connect to the new IP that you just made

OSX 10.8.2 running 1.4.4 open to LAN over wireless
I've tried the following:
1. Tried client specifying the machine's IP address instead of 0.0.0.0:xxxxx
2. Tried client running 1.4.5 pre-release
3. Tried 'server' and client both running 1.4.5 pre-release
None of these worked, the client still gets the error: connection refused.
Any other ideas?

Should it still be possible to do multiplayer with each other on our LAN?

P.S : If world not shown on second computer , or vice-versa, check on both computer java permission in firewall.

I thought that would work when I read through....
All is fine and visible until I double click to connect I get a "logging on" message flash up briefly and I get the error message "Connection Lost - End of Stream"
I checked in the firewall and Java permission is set for both private and public on both machines.
