Not content to leave bugs unfixed, Mojang has already sent out the 1.4.5 Pre-Release!  This isn't a required download for anyone still playing 1.4.4, it is meant to address issues with LAN servers.  If you were having problems with your LAN games, definitely give this a try, and offer some feedback!

A number of SMP related issues were addressed here - crashing when entering certain servers, baby villagers only being farmers, and issues with spawning baby wolves, among others.  Remember, if you aren't having trouble with 1.4.4, you can continue playing with it normally - however, if you want to update to the 1.4.5 PR client, don't fear!  The 1.4.5 Pre-Release client should be able to connect to any 1.4.4 servers without any trouble at all.

Give it a try, see if it doesn't help with certain SMP issues!  Whether it does or not, be sure to report your findings right here!

Ermahgerd, so many pointless updates. :|
Why can't they fix bugs with out "updating"? I know they have done that at least once. :/

I found a typo at the beginning, it said "in't" which should be "isn't".

As far as I can say, all mods I used for 1.4.4 are still working with 1.4.5.
But the torch bug is still not fixed.

wow. we'll probably make it to 1.4.6 because the torch bug still isn't fixed...

I'm still happily playing on 1.4.2 with my mods until a stable version comes out.

Oh, yes, you do!

Even if some mods are still working, there is always a risk!

Well, actually, I haven't even updated yet, but I am not interested in updating so that it will be useless in a weak, but that would require waiting for this to be released, and then for MCP and modloader to update... So if 1.4.4 mods don't work with 1.4.5 I think I will scream.

This is happening to me too. (I'm also using a mac) I haven't had someone else try to connect to my lan server, but I think I read somewhere that the LAN wasn't supposed to bind to 0.0.0.0

All the changes/fixes from 1.4.3, 1.4.4 and 1.4.5 should have been put into 1.4.3 as there were so many bugs in the releases.

All these updates for bugs really annoy me tbh. I appreciate the bug-quashing but I don't think there's really any need to segregate(not the right word) the updates like this. Just makes mod updating and such a pain in the ass.

Then screw it. Let's wait for 1.4.6.

Well, if you really can't play without your mods then you can simply stay on the version and wait until the mod is updated. Since you don't really care about bugfixes either you won't have any disadvantages from waiting before you update.

This is getting very annoying, this bug tracker is proving to be a bit of a pain not an enhancement

I'm sure I'm not the first to say this, but most of the Mod-Makers in the community must be Flipping Tables and drop-kicking their desktops with all the updates lately. XD
