Hope it'll be fixed, just to prevent future players from doing the same thing! Posted Image I might as well just restart with the next version you put out, seeing how I kinda skipped a bit by running through.
And surprisingly, got a working fix in. I didn't consider the movement boost when adding a sprint jump in an open area, which was letting you get through, so I penalized the first one, and changed the second one, while reducing the time allowed to get in slightly to compensate. Works like a charm!

Thanks for spotting that ^_^

I've finished almost everything else now, so I'll be spending a bit to get Block C released before the update, and hopefully the start will be fairly smooth!

And the next update of the Beta is ready!

Changelist:
-Nausea Beacon is now a hunger beacon
-Added a new texture, and changed the one for Glass, thus updating the texture pack!
-Slightly tweaked the first puzzle
-Fixed a bug in that one as well
-Added a new book in the earlier section
-Changed almost all the "Name changed" items from italicized names to normal names. NRG bottles are the only non-changed names, on purpose.
-Tweaked the sprint puzzle, to force the use of the Speed Beacon
-Removed a rogue emerald... *cough* Power Cell
-Renamed a Power Cell to "Central Core Power Cell" to clarify its use.
-Tweaked a few visuals ever so slightly
-Added a new set of Command Block text to direct you a bit better.
-Tweaked Block B of the Offices puzzles
-Added the entire Block C section. Can't thank the creator of Electric Cave enough for the inspiration. If you guys like this one, I'll do more for Block D
-Added more books, most in the perspective of you, John Dayralt, as well as a few others.
-Added a little incentive to post feedback at the end of Block C Posted Image
-Updated the readme text slightly

Please give this one a download and let me know what you think. With luck, I won't need to update again until the Office Puzzles are complete.

As for the forum thread:
-Updated one of the screenshots - I need to update two others
-Updated the credits section
-Updated the description
-Added a fun fact
-Added a "Story" section that includes the short story from the readme file

Finally, thanks for the 31 downloads thus far Posted Image It's not a ton, but it's great to see that people are playing it!

Upcoming patch fairly soon!

-Fixed some bugs caused by the last patch, particularly in Block C
-Adding Blocks D and E
-A few more texture tweaks
-A few bugfixes across the map
-A few more hints for Block A
-Changed a puzzle a bit in Block C

Keep an eye out for it! And please keep testing and giving me feedback - I'd really love to hear it.

Patch has been uploaded and the download link is up! Please check it out and post your feedback! If you do get me some feedback, I'll be sure to thank you in the map, and also hide a little reference to your name somewhere as well!

I think I may have found a bug / hidden feature. In the room with the two beacons (main core, and the other one) it is possible to knock yourself up to the stone slab railing using the punch bow, and just run along that to the end.

Ooh, thank you :o I hadn't even considered that. Might have to make some invisible blocks and put them up there!

Haha :P I'll likely just find some snarky way to stop that from happening... That or remove the Punch from the bow :P

My pleasure. :P I'll wait a bit more before going through it again, though. Can't play it too many times in quick succession! :D

I'd suggest waiting 'til I finish the Office Blocks stuff! Spent the day working on my CTM map for a change of pace, which was certainly good for me :P

If I have the free time, I'll be devising some puzzles for the last few areas and finishing them up. Then I decide if I just want to end it or go on from there :)

New patch coming up either later today or tomorrow!

Changelist:
-Updated some early visuals
-A few small bugfixes, not much to see here
-Adding Office Blocks F and G
-Adding the Special Office Block
-Several new books further explaining the story behind Dayralt Industries
-Two new books giving backstory to Dayralt himself, and another book looking into the catastrophe that starts the map
-Access to the next area of the map

From here, the next patch may or may not have this, depending on how much time I have to do this:

-Central Core chamber added
-Large computer-style puzzle

Keep an eye out, and please, if you are interested, feel free to download the current version!

Way too tough map for me. I got the Blazes, and they let me out through the green wool ok. But I shouldn't be there, and I didn't know where to go. Then I saw the sprint run. Couldn't do that, way to old and slow. The nasuea was a total mystery to me, I had to cheat just to get to the plates for door two, (but I got me a fish in the process). And there I was overspawned by zombies, had no idea where to go, and felt really sick. I know way too little about how the "new" Minecraft works, to really enjoy and get through theese puzzles.

But the overall feeling is more or less like it was in the first episode of MacGyver. There's also the feeling that you have to be smart like MacGyver in order to get through. Dumb people like me shall not play this map.

I'll see if I can get any further, but for now, I lost interest.

Hmm, do you have an older version? I patched out the Nausea awhile ago Posted Image Unless you just mean the hunger Posted Image

That's an interesting description though, and I rather like it. I was rather aiming for Myst crossed with some sort of action game, but very puzzling, while making use of new and old features.

Anyway, thank you very much either way for the response. If you get past the puzzles in the core area, there's a good old water puzzle you might enjoy Posted Image

As for the patch, it's going to be a bit delayed. I was in the hospital last night, so I'm really just working as I can. I've got the puzzles for Block F and G done though, and will continue working until I can release more.

Went ahead and put out the next, and possibly final beta patch for now, before I get a 'final release' out, as with my plans.

The updates are pretty much as above:

-Updated some early visuals
-A few small bugfixes, not much to see here
-Added Office Blocks F and G, as well as the Laboratory Tower
-Added the Special Teleport
-Several new books further explaining the story behind Dayralt Industries
-Two new books giving backstory to Dayralt himself, and another book looking into the catastrophe that starts the map, as well as setting up the final arc of the story
-Access to the next area of the map, which is not yet built
-A few hidden shoutouts to those who gave some valuable feedback early on :)
-Added a Minecart puzzle, you'll know it when you see it. If you finish it, please let me know your thoughts on it, it might be a bit rough. Same deal with the Block F puzzle - I want some feedback on how it works.

Enjoy!

Just updating pictures and a bit of a thread. Not a bunch new. Working hard on the new and possibly final area though! Thank you to the nameless 7 who have downloaded the new beta :)

Hate to post without too much of an update, but I'm currently running through the map a ton to find bugs. If anyone that has download has any feedback at all about the current beta copy, be it bugs, things you liked, things you didn't like, and things you don't understand, it would be extremely helpful for me!

Thanks to the other 7 downloaders, bringing the count to 14 testers on the current version, and 106 downloads so far :)

While I'm not downloading this again this version (still as confused as ever with the older one) I would say that this map does deserve some type of bump of which i can provide.
