I have a budget of roughly £300, does anyone know any decent gaming laptops or computers I can get for that, I won't be mlg gaming or anything, just something that's fast and can handle at least Team fortress 2.

I can push my budget up to £450

I wouldn't recommend a laptop and I wouldn't recommend a pre-built... I would save up about £100 more and build this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ntKs

That should run TF2 at about 100 frames and run Minecraft highest settings at about anything... LOL! You might even be able to play games like battlefield 3 on low-medium settings.

You're definitely going to get your best by building it yourself. It's fairly easy.

Here's a list of what you need.
Here's how to put it together.

You can drop the optical drive if you have at least a 4 GB flash drive. That's all you need to install the OS. Or you can simply steal an optical drive from a computer you already own.

That build is really crappy.

How? APU's are really good for low-budget builds.
I never did post a lot, but now I'm leaving forever. This forum in general is a joke, with the crappy mods, handing out infractions like nobody's business, and just being plain stupid. There's that and there's the amount of stupidity that members hold nowadays. XDA Developers and OCN here I come!

$700 = £450 Bro.
Plus, for a budget of $700: Always include peripherals and you can get a much better rig than that for $700
Also, Hitachi? EW, unreliable, noisy, slow.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nu80
$25 dollars more (like 15 pounds) for atleast a 25% gaming boost. Worth it.

Problems: Coolmaster Elite 430 has NO cable management, but is cheap so yeah.

You seem to be missing the part where his budget is £300, which is around $476.

You went a LARGE amount over his budget, while managing to fit in a crappy processor, mobo, EXTREMELY crappy HDD, overpriced 7770 (why the hell would you get 7770 for $130? It's a freaking 7770- any one will do fine. If you're going to overclock the damn thing, you should get a better video card), the case is horrible, the PSU is terrible for the price (the cheapest corsairs are very well priced) and the monitor is 1366x768.

1366x768. 'Nuff said.

It's an APU: Accelerated Processing Unit. It combines the CPU and GPU. It's used for low budget builds, and gives good results. Far better than integrated graphics on an i3.

Processor is horrible, the new Piledrivers are ok but that's Bulldozer, motherboard isn't too great, the hard drive is bad, Hitachi hard drives aren't the most reliable ones out there, change it to a Barracuda/Caviar Blue or to a Caviar Black if it's not much more than the other two, the 7770 is way too much, you could get another one for $30 less, and the monitor isn't great either.
Prices vary on different countries, converting prices like that is impossible.

Switch to FM2 and get an A8-5600k for £5 more.

OK, so I'm not really a computer expert, so I couldn't pick one myself. At the moment I'm looking into
BKrenz's recommendation, also my budget is pushed up to £450, so his offer can be made slightly better. Also I already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse so please don't put those in there.

This would be for your revised budget. I strongly recommend installing Windows from a Flash Drive (USB) and dropping the optical drive. That should put you directly at the 450 mark.

Otherwise, let the others fix it. I did my best.

Change the power supply to the XFX 450W, not much more to do than that.

At the moment I'm stuck with BKrenz's because it's not too expensive and looks pretty decent. I guess any build's better then my £100 HP mini netbook.  Posted Image

As I said, I don't know much about computers, so is this a good gaming pc? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ny3p
I found it on some other thread and I was wondering if it was good.

Yup, it's decent, but a AMD CPU would be better. Something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/uk/p/n59g

It's under your budget, and you can add peripherals if you like.

Get dual channel RAM(two 4GB RAM sticks), the non-R 2.0 version of the motherboard and get the XFX 450W: http://pcpartpicker....pply-p1450sx2b9
