No download as of yet, it's not finished!

Looking through the GLSL shaders mod thread I had a really good idea about creating a Cel-shaded texture pack for Minecraft. Yeah I know theres already one available, but mine looks prettier when you have the right mods =D

OftD1M2yZSE
Eh.... the awkward moment when it uploads without any sound...

Mods used:
  :cobblestone:   MrMods (BetterLight and BetterGrass).
  :cobblestone: GLSL Shader.
:cobblestone:  Realistic DoF shader by azraeil. (comes with GLSL mod)
  :cobblestone:  Lightning/outline shader by RoadCrewWorker.
* final.fsh, not the base.fsh

Oh yeah, and it's not finished yet.

Feedback? What do you think?

Seems reasonable that my first post on here is on this pack.

I. Want. It.

However, I tend not to really use mods, and it looks fantastic with them, but what does it look without them?

Hmm, it may still look cel-shaded, but without black edges and a far more noticeable lighting difference between each block.

Can you post links to all the used mods?

Great looking video btw.

A little too much work for not enough reward. You're going to have to make Minecraft look extra sexy if you want people to learn and install all of these mods for your texture pack.

It's only 2 mods, one of which many people already have for BetterLights.
The other 2 mentioned are just scripts to change how the game is drawn.

Point me to the outline shading mod please. The RoadCrew one, was not able to find it.

Great video! Really shows off what we can do combining a cell-shade-friendly pack with that outline shader.

Truthfully, though, I don't feel the shader itself is quite ready to be played-with. I'm used to the Street Fighter 4 quality of shaders, and a simple black outline isn't doing it for me.

Only the final.fsh shader though, and with a one line change to make the edges thicker.

Runs between 55-65fps on my 9800GT, which ain't exactly a powerhouse in todays standards.
I'll clean my minecraft install and see what it runs at un-modded.

EDIT: 66-70fps with no mods active on a clean install/update. So near impossible to notice a loss in frame rate.

Okay. Thanks for checking. I'll probably give this a whirl tomorrow. It looks fantastic.

I have to say that this looks great, and even though I prefer not to use mods I will gladly do so for this texture pack when it is available. Excellent job on this and I hope you keep it up.

Eh, just before I finish the texture off, how should I normally release a texture pack? it's just a 16x16 texture so I don't think Xau's patcher would be needed, but I think telling people to use winrar and open the .jar to insert the files can be a bit confusing for some.

You don't have to put stuff in the .jar file.

Zip up all the textures and stuff into a .zip file, put it into the textures folder, then select it in game.  Follow the model of other .zip files like gerudoku and stuff.

I. Fucking. Came.

Would it be possible for you to post screenies without all those light mods your using? I'm on a mac and I'm having some trouble getting the bloody mods to work.
