I would also like to add that such work would be refreshing to see (of course not like crazy bone breaking killing death work). I actually wish I learned a good work ethic, because it is really starting to bite in Highschool..
It would be refreshing to see. If we took kids out to do manual labour, it would show them how terrible their lives will be if they don't try. Make the slacker do a week of ditch digging and maybe their attitude will change. It seems teens don't understand this basic concept of trying now when things are relatively easy, and not facing a lifetime of physical labour.
