I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

You need the enchantment ID as well, while missing from the Wiki's Data Values page, they are on the Enchanting page.
And the power is limited by enchantment , so no "Fortune XXX" :-(.
Eg. holding diamond pickaxe:
- /enchant ‹me› 32 5
- /enchant ‹me› 34 3
- /enchant ‹me› 35 3

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Never noticed the enchantment ID number column on that page before.
