If updating the mod from 0.51 to 0.6 your old saves WILL NOT WORK!...Make new saves...

When I tested it crashed(simple fix) Here's How:

Before copying the files to the jar, rename emeraldOre.PNG to emeraldOre.png, otherwise it can't recognize it and it crashes

Edit: I renamed the mod to "New Ores" from "Emerald Tools and Ore" because I decided to add more than just emerald ore.

I've made my first Minecraft mod and it took about 3 days to make.

I might soon make a video about it.
I also may soon add images.

Also the Emerald Ore takes a long time to mine even with a diamond or emerald pickaxe, If you know anything about making mods please help me out with making the correct pickaxes break the ore faster(aka Iron, Diamond, Emerald) Thanks.

The emerald tools and sword are crafted the same way as the rest except using emeralds.
The emerald tools are a bit faster than diamond.
I tried to make emerald ore harder to find than diamond(I think it worked)

To find emerald ore you need to either make a new world or go to non-generated parts of a current world.

For the art for the mod I just recolored other textures and items.

If the new items and/or emerald ore doesn't appear right it means your texture pack is not compatible.

PS. I'm hoping this might appear in someone's LP Someday.

Information:

Emerald Ore and Crystal Ore are found at layer 12 and below.
Emerald Tools are a bit faster than Diamond.
Crystal Tools are a bit faster than Emerald(but it's not very noticeable).
All new tools have better durability(emerald better than diamond...crystal better than emerald).
Emerald Tools and Crystal Tools are crafted the same way as the rest.

Minecraft Emerald Tools and Ore V0.1 made by: cooldudepoke

Installation
------------

IMPORTANT: Backup your saves and minecraft.jar before installing or you could corrupt it(then i can't help you)!

Step 1: Drag/Copy all files from the "Put into Minecraft Jar" folder into minecraft.jar using Winrar or any other compatiable program.
Step 2: Still in minecraft.jar Delete the META-INF folder
Step 3: Exit Winrar or whatever program you're using.
Step 4: Enjoy the Mod!(and your emeralds...)

On mac:
-------

IMPORTANT: Backup your saves and minecraft.jar before installing or you could corrupt it(then i can't help you)!

Note: Some steps may be incorrect because I can't remember how to do it on macs very well.

Step 1: Make sure minecraft.jar is in it's place(aka you've run minecraft before)
Step 2: Copy and paste the following code into terminal and press enter:

cd ~
mkdir mctmp
cd mctmp
jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar

Step 3: In your username folder(i think it's called your home folder) you should have a folder called mctmp.
Step 4: Copy the files from the "Put into Minecraft Jar" folder into mctmp
Step 5: Copy and paste the following code into terminal and press enter:

rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.*
jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./
cd ..
rm -rf mctmp

Step 6: Run Minecraft and Enjoy the Mod!(and your emeralds...)

I don't mean to be rude...but why doesn't my mod get any attention? I spent alot of time making it...I don't understand is it because it's my first mod...becuase i don't have images or a video?

You should put up some images, because some people just look trough a thread and if they don't see images, they leave.

As for the lack of replies... images and formatting do a LOT to make the thread look better. I would suggest starting there.

You don't have to start a new world but if you use an already generated world you have to go very far(into ungenerated parts of the world, that way it generates the new ores in those new parts)

I would recommend using a new world though...Oh and don't forget to backup your saves.

Oh, I got a request. Can you add titanium? It will be in the middle between iron and diamon les common than iron but more common than diamond.
