I know this is a late post, but I agree. With all these studpid mods, there's no need for any other admins or mods as you and other's put it. Also, their immature minds make them think they rule the world, banning people and cursing out in foul language. Some kids aren't even in middle school, and they already swear like there's no tomorrow. Its really annoying.

That's just the world today. The internet and its mixing of ages and levels of maturity have taught kids how to grow up--kind of--a lot faster. There is no bullsh!ting on the internet and people don't care how old anyone is. There is no moderation of language anywhere. In my opinion, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. The idea that swearing is "wrong" is just a useless moral brainwashed into society. Words are just words and you can choose how you feel in response.

Thanks for your advice, but going back to my elementary school i remember back then teachers would yell at us for saying stupid and all those other crap. but now, everybody's swearing left and right. Teachers cant do anything as kids just flip them off. its really sad though but i understand.

Now imagine people in real life talking like how people talk on YouTube comments.

Person A: That's so cool!
Person B: Nobody gives a flying f about your opinion you motherf'ing son of a f'ing b. Go suck a d.
OK.

Saying words are just words is, in my opinion, a poor justification for bad language. Fortunately there are also servers where that sort of stuff isn't tolerated. We run a Small World server which is kinda Vanilla-ish. Yes it's basically a Bukkit server with a number of plugins to help prevent grief: Minebans, CoreProtect, NoCheatPlus. There is only 1 gameplay changing pluging: Lockette, which is also to prevent a lot of hassle for the moderators and admins.

For our team it's simply undoable to moderate the server 24/7. And fixing grief just isn't the way we want to spend our precious spare time.

When people have proven they are mature enough, which isn't age related at all in my experience, players get to play on our real Vanilla server. This server is plain Minecraft. No Bukkit, no plugins, just minecraft_server.jar from minecraft.net :)

Running a community where you can have a 'clean' Vanilla server with people that are simply fun to play with is a lot of work though. It takes quite a lot of effort to screen out players you don't want there.

I really have lost all hope in Minecraft servers. WAY too many plugins, griefers, 9 year olds spamming chat and acting immature and stupid, BIG spawns I can never figure out how to navigate, etc... God help us .-.

Why I hate this new... "Generation"... Of minecrafters

-PVP'ers take no consideration for other players.
-People are usually extremely rude.
-Moderators are usually abusive or don't do their jobs.
-Too many plugins.
-Everyone that plays is anywhere from 8-12
-All people do is complain

What are you doing on a public server if you want to have a peaceful, cooperative community?  Public servers are the Minecraft social equivalent of a bar that advertises "NO DRESS CODE" on its sign.
I play on a non-whitelisted vanilla server.  No, you can't have the address.  I build large legit projects and only use Creative mode and Op powers for administrative duties.  The biggest grief story we have is when a new guy stole some diamonds, a map, and some really nice enchanted stuff from me.  I took the sword and bow back and threatened to use my legit stack of TNT on his house if he did it again.  No problems since.

Like a hundred people have already said it.  You want a nice game of Minecraft, play on a private server.
Notch loves you.  Notch labors for your fun.  Believe in Notch, and let his Game relieve your boredom.

Thank you.  Who cares how old someone is as long as they act mature?

Can I also add (and this is a little self serving)- who cares how long someone has been playing as long as they are respectful and know how to use google before asking questions?

While immature users may be on the rise, at least Mojang is getting money flooded to them in the process, thus enabling them to put those resources back into development.

That has to do with our own experience as well. Sometimes when people join they act friendly, nice, helpful because they are new. After a few days they might start to grief, become abusive, whatever. So we've decided to take more time to evaluate players.

We don't want people acting mature and involved, we want mature and involved people :)

Minecraft Multiplayer is dead... play SSP.
OR
Play with Friends on a private server. just sayin'
and yes, i've seen the MC Community turn from a friendly group of people to one of those CoD or Halo communities.
Are you planning to make suggestion? check the search bar first.

Well it's not that hard, it only happened a year ago.

So as time went on 'kids' joined, I'm talking about America's introduction to Minecraft.

So you're blaming Americans because some immature people play Minecraft now?

Posted ImageSunSailer, on 13 November 2012 - 09:30 PM, said:

Back in alpha and beta you had to make your own server. You still do today, but it was harder and much rarely done. Only very ambitious kids made a server. So 80% of them were created by us, the veterans and true Minecrafters.

Honestly making a server has always been easy if you're competent enough to follow instructions on how to do it. Also please tell me what a "true" Minecrafter is, I'd really like to know.

Of course idea's are added such as PvP and Economy. Which were retarded ideas, the combat system is not for competitive use, and why add an economy to a game of labor?

They only seem retarded to you because you don't like them, to other people they are good ideas and they enjoy them.

Oh, and yes. Minecraft does have a new generation. That generation is filled with the new generation of humans. The 21'st century generation.

And how do you know it's filled with with the 21'st centuries generation, have you done any polls or studies to figure out the what generation there are more people from? Or are you just blaming the newer generation just because of a few immature people?

Posted ImageSunSailer, on 13 November 2012 - 09:30 PM, said:

I hope my fellow veterans can find a good server, and for all of you 'kids' or CoD Minecraft whana be's, let this be a message to you: This is a game of survival, creativity, and friendship. It is not a game of 'PvP' and showing off diamond armor.

And who are you to tell people how to play a sandbox game? They can play it however they want to and you can play it how you want to. Why try to force them to play the way you want?

Long-Live Minecraft Alpha-ers! And Long Live Inv-Dev!

Why, what makes Aplha-ers and Inv-Dev players so much better that you only say that about them? We're all Minecraft players we all play it because we enjoy playing the game. What makes someone better just because they bought the game earlier then the rest?

I never said anyone was better than anyone. I never said I was blaming America. I said I loved Alpha. And now there are new people playing Minecraft and they're jerks to be quite honest.

I've tried numerous time to start a private server with friends because I can't stand the server community today. The only problem I have with running a server is how to Port Forward and to properly set it up with the right amount of RAM. Servers today suck, and none of them are original. All of them have "TOWNY" and "TEKKIT" and "ANTI-LAG" and finally, the infamous "PVP AND FACTIONS"

Aren't contractions just amazing?

Use hamachi if you can't port forward. I have a list of tutorials on setting up your server on my youtube.

So much makes me upset with the new type of Minecraft players.

They complain with just about every frickin' update. "new tera1n is b0ring chang 1t plz!!1!"   "with3r 2 hrd! mAke t eesier! ):" I don't get why people just can't enjoy the game as it is. When Mojang adds something, complaining will not change anything. It will just spam everything, and cause all good Minecraft users to get annoyed. They also do not realize the features are optional. You don't HAVE to make a Wither, or hunt for a Witch hut, when the update comes out.

Actually, that is the OLD type of minecrafters, who have been playing since beta, who complain about the terrain.

There is a really good reason you don't see true vanilla servers much.  They are a pain in the backside to administer properly.  It's like trying to type with mittens on.  Players really don't like it when your response to "My house got blown up!" is "Sorry, build it again.  We banned the person but we can't restore your house without tossing out everyone else's work for the last day."
Tis far better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.

The main problem I see is most folks don't want to get there hands dirty. They want to teleport here and there, change the time of day the weather and so on. I have seen my fair share of so called vanilla servers, you know the ones, no paths or infrastructure because everyone just /homes or /tps.

I have a privet server that I have had since beta 1.5 and is over 3 gigs in size, 43 minutes of train track linking all of the outposts along with paths linking in the same manner. Nether is cobble pathed with portals for fastest travel yet people still want to teleport  because they don't want to play SURVIVAL MODE, they want to play QUICK REWARD MODE.

You can advertise your server on forums but it becomes buried with in a hour due to bot posters and then there is the plug-in that gives people a free diamond for voting for the server.  In short it is hell getting folks to play on a Legit server and finding one is just as hard. It is to hard for people to take 5 mins to fill out a application these days, "hmmm no wonder employment is so low these days ya think?".

I don't think having Bukkit is a big problem unless it is abused or used to take away the legit vanilla experience. It is honestly the only insurance policy against griefers. IMO all you need is bukkitt and world edit to maintain large servers as the patches and griefers roll on threw time.

In short I feel society is becoming more and more feeble when it comes to effort and imagination. Which is why mine craft is so successful.  Not many games since the early 90's give players the ability to use there imagination because most things in life these days spoon fed. In short people don't want to play in the vanilla fashion, they just want to pretend they are and they are only fooling themselves.

“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.” - Confucius

Cough...cough. I have played a long time and have not complained one time about anything, except until now, about your misguided post and generalization. Back up a little.

I can agree with you. But this game was intended for any age and it's a family game. I know what you mean and it isn't just minecraft. For example I was playing tf2 and there are these little 9 year old's screaming into the microphone and playing the game. It's ridiculous at how the parents of these little kids allow them to play games like tf2. To avoid this I just play on a private server.
