Why prioritize the mother?

Sorry, I ment, to take away the potential to have a prosperous life.
Because the mother is already alive and conscious. The fetus is not.

That fetus also has the potential to grow up, and find a cure to cancer, or to be a great leader.

Yes, and it also has the change of being the next genocidal maniac, another serial killer, or a new dictator.

The fetus is still a living human, and therefore, should be respected as one.

Says who?

I'll give you a hint: Most scientists and first world nations don't.

Would you be in favor of flipping coin to decide whether it should be aborted or not?

Strawman fallacy. I never even remotely said that everyone is terrible and therefore deserve to die.

According to your logic, women should have to do nothing but having babies, since anything else would mean a loss of potential lifes.

Going to need to ban birth control. Potential lives lost, you know?

"Yes, and it also has the change of being the next genocidal maniac, another serial killer, or a new dictator. " Read that over again.

How does a fetus have a greater chance to become a killer than you or I?

No, every person has the chance to be an awful person, but they have as much chance, if not more, to be a decent person.

I see where you are all coming from, and I accept for the most part, that you are most likley right. I don't think there is any way of stopping abortion, as women are going to have them wether it's legal or not, and even women who thought it was murdering, have had it done. But, I still do not believe it is right to do, but that's just my perspective.

True, but it's completley different. Your not stopping a fetus from growing, your preventing it from happening in the first place.

At least you understand that prohibition doesn't work. Better than nothing, I suppose.

I don't think that abortion should be a right either.... I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying.

So now potential doesn't matter?

Uhh, yes it does, but not when contraception comes into play. Obviously, there is "potential" to conceive a baby, but by people using contraception, at least they are not conceiving a baby and killing it. Eh, idk, I'm tired, I'll come on tommorow and say something half decent, I'm knackered.

I think the point that Mhyles is trying to come across with, is that life begins as soon as it becomes a fetus.

Which is an opinion. One that science doesn't back, nor do most first world governments.
