I have made a couple of servers before, and I had to run the server on my computer before I could play. I have seen lots of servers that run 24/7. how do they do this? do they have there computers running all the time? or do they pay to get someone else to run the server all the time? HOW DO THEY DO IT!!!!!!!!????!?!?!?!? :|:

They would have to run their computers 24/7 in order to have the server running 24/7. And yes, some people pay other companies or individuals to host for them.

I'm retired from this forum.

I've also seen some websites running 24/7, like google and facebook. How does it work :/

Seriously tho, there are computers in the world that don't stand under peoples desks and those are mostly called server (eg. rootserver, or VPS). You can rent those.

I do run a 24/7 server but I turn it off every now and then for about a week every month because it does infact slow down your computer if your run it yourself.
