The "old" system was placing it exactly like how you would a piston, based on where the player's facing - it was extremely annoying and inefficient.
The "new" system is placing it is based on which side of the block you're pointing from - it's bothersome, yes, but much less annoying.

Toggle key, toggle key, TOGGLE KEY. Think about it this way: It take more energy to type a key into a key board than it does to move a mouse slightly northward. If you want to save time and energy, just keep it as it is now. Also, think of it this way: It takes more energy AND time to complain about something that was made easier asked by the community than it is to move the mouse slightly northward.

Having both systems available would stop threads like this from popping up. Yet Benjamin here described it as "a cop out to avoid criticism from those who don't like it" which is kind of the point, though it isn't as lowly as a simple 'cop out', if you don't like one, use the other. His stating of the obvious prompted me to question the purpose of the post, and you say that ends the argument in his favour?

What kind of backwards logic are you using? And what is this argument you're talking about? This is as much an argument as asking someone why they had to say out loud that cows go "moo".

I completely agree, sideways logs are awkward and rather pointless.
