I'm experiencing a bug that I have learned many players have, where, while building or spawning, clicking once (left or right clicking), places multiple blocks. I have read many numerous threads from many google results concerning this where people are giving various answers to why this happens. None of the answers have helped me, but I am not just writing this to see if there is anyone who has a new solution for it, but to express a correctional observation about when it happens, which can hopefully lead to an ACTUAL solution. Read on.
I'm not running a super gaming machine or anything. I'm only on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop, Windows 7 64bit, with an Intel 2.5ghz processor, 4g RAM (which Minecraft uses 2 in java x64), and a measley Intel mobile integrated video chip. However, I find myself on creative mode, in an empty flat world, building a two story house, and averaging steady 50 to 60 fps. Obviously there is no lag going on here, neither near or far from the structure.
One of the common theories that I consistently read is that it happens WHEN there is a lag spike... I now have to beg the differ. Read on.
I observe that I have no lag spikes while running around in the world. What I observed though was this:
Clicking to put down or destroy a block CREATES the lag spike, which, in turn, studders the mouse response and thereby placing or destroying whatever im pointing at through the studder.
Please note: there is NOTHING wrong with my mouse. All drivers are up to date - java, video and input. Also note that my LWJGL is also newly updated.
I have tested this in all video settings both within the game, and within my graphics properties and all settings have the same result.
Please note: This is not a computer performance issue as I do not lag at all in Minecraft.
As of this thread, Minecraft is on version 1.3.2 and that is the version I am running. I have duplicated this bug on a new installation free of all mods, both with and without Optifine.
If there has been a solution that I have not come across and anybody has one for this, please let me know. If not, hopefully this thread and my observation can help to come up with one.
