You could also use glazed stone or glazed obsidian. Smelting sand, obsidian sand and clay together into an obsidian based ceramic. This combination would make an incredibly strong armor. You could make Coral ceramic similarly. You would just need to create a way to make powders of stone, coral and obsidian. Maybe an emulsifier?
I was thinking of setting up a server for modders and users to come together and share ideas. What would you think of that?

I love everything about your mod with the exception of the dirt tools and armor. My favorite part about your mod is the combining or reinforcing of items in the wood-stone set.
Request:
You would have my many thanks to create a secondary version or an option to disable dirt amour in survival & hardcore modes.
Suggestion:
I suggest for standing apart, mod recipe compatibility and the sake of consistency, that the other sets such as the obsidian should be crafted the same as the wood-stone set. Replacing respectively cobblestone with obsidian, sandstone, ETC.

Also, as far as recipes go, ease of crafting isn't quite as important as not conflicting with other mods recipes. The way you craft the wood-stone is perfect. I really hope you don't change that.
