Well I've been modding for a while but I always seem to mess up my .jar and I end up having to re install minecraft. Today, however, I thought I had finally managed to do it! Unfortunately for me, I was wrong.
The Mod I was trying to add was (obviously) Not Enough Items. I followed all the steps on this website http://www.minecraft...ough-items-mod/ correctly but for some reason, whenever I try to open my Inventory, it will close my Minecraft.
Now I did a bit of research and came up with the idea that I had downloaded the wrong type of Minecraft Forge. So I got the latest one and put that in instead. This time, it gave me a crash report:

This was the one given to me in the Minecraft screen. The first one is where this one directed me to.
I did put those into the right places. I put the NEI client into the .jar and I put codechickencore in the mod folder, or as it told me to at the website, the 'coremods' folder. I'm really quite confused on what I've done wrong here. I will try again however...
'coremods' is a separate folder in .minecraft. Do not put them in the .jar or mod folder at all. Not sure where LuisAdeur is getting his information from.
Yep I already new that and I literally just tried out my minecraft and it works! Thank you both a lot. I just need to edit which file so I can spawn in items? (I did it with my tekkit but have forgotten now)
Never mind, I found out you just have to press the creative button twice. hehe ;D
Seeing as you're being so helpful, do you know why I can't look up recipes on a server? Is it because it's not a server wide mod?
Literally nothing. I changed the mode to Recipe, clicked on it, nothing, pressed r over it, nothing. I tried all the modes, to no avail.
I'm using Core 0.6.2 and NEI 1.4.0.2 and it works, confirmed it transfers to crafting square and work bench. I heard there were some issues in the newer versions. Only other thing I can think is to make sure you're trying with something that has a recipe..
I found out the other day that I was actually trying to click on the wrong thing! (It was cake I was trying to craft, yes I'm an idiot) For some reason there was a duplicate of 'Cake' and that if I just turned the page, I could find the real one! That was the only problem!
'coremods' is a separate folder in .minecraft. Do not put them in the .jar or mod folder at all. Not sure where LuisAdeur is getting his information from.
ChickenCore goes to mods folder and nei client goes to jar Look in the mod installation...
I would be glad to see that, but the NEI thread specifically says coremods folder to NEI and CCC, and they have been working there for me for weeks..
Ofcourse if he uses 1.3.2 it goes into the coremods folder as told in the Chicken bones thread but if he uses 1.2.5 not the case it goes into the Mods folder.
I have forge and the corechicken thing and mine crashes when i open the inventory
Help??When I dragged and dropped the NotEnoughItems into my .jar it had a META-INF in it, should I delete that even though i deleted the other META-INF that is in Vanilla MC? I also have other mods that I plan to install.
