IMPORTANT PLEASE READ.
Spoiler:

==================================================================

This is the area I'm working with. All of the snowy area on the left and all of non-tree area in the middle of the map. The Artizian Plains, will be somewhat of an up-scale medieval-esque/fantasy build (hopefully) featuring a lot of intricate detailing. I'm going to be learning a lot during this build and pushing the limits of what's possible with stairs and slabs. The entirety of this build will be legit. Clearing the land took me axes 5-7 diamond axes (with enchants) and netted me about 5 double chests of wood (oak/birch).
Spoiler:

The beginning of the outer wall's towers. Status: Finished
Spoiler:

Building the actual outer wall. Status: Finished
The outside wall was started on Oct. 9th and finished on the 24th. They carry the design from the towers quiet heavily. I've also done some minor terra-forming although it's pretty hard to notice in the screenshots. I will need to do quiet a bit later on too.
Spoiler:

The Gateways. Status: Finished
These pictures have been updated to reflect their finished state.
Spoiler:

Terra-Forming/Other Status: In progress
I'll be touching up areas when I get to building more later on, for now I want to smooth out the terrain and make a more manage-able landscape for when I get around to building the castle. If things look a little bland at the moment just remember there are no trees and this will not be accurate of the final product.
Spoiler:

Castle/Palace Status: Building underway. - Planning underway.
I've decided upon the size of the castle - 140x100 blocks. There will also be a library, storage, and frankly I don't what else wing that will extend out from the side of the castle. I would like a rather large and elaborate library though, so something along the size of 60x60 may be an option. I've decided upon 60x60 (10/28/12).
Planning - I use creative for this.
Spoiler:
Building - Underway
Spoiler:

Towns/Villages Status: Not started yet
Spoiler:

Anyway that's what I've got thus far. If you have any questions feel free to ask them and I will answer them as best I can.

Feedback is welcome and appreciated Posted Image For those wondering this will cover a roughly 200-300 x 300 block area. I had actually intended for this to be even larger but due to sheer cliffs caused by 1.0 terrain generation on what started as a beta 1.8 world this isn't possible unless I want to look directly at said sheer cliffs which I already am in a small section. My Biomes are also messed up because of the various terrain generation changes that have happened since Beta 1.8. Hence why in the picture of the map the ocean is all ice. It think it's a snow plains biome lol.

I may consider this, the main issue with putting it up for download is the size of the world. It's 334mb, 218mb when compressed and most websites have a limit of 100mb or 200mb for free users. It's something I'll look into again Posted Image I've explored the Nether a lot collecting glowstone and that massively upped the file size Posted Image

You would also need to wait for the GLSL Shaders Mod to update to 1.3.2/1.4, otherwise the corner stairs wouldn't work.

away I gotta go to bed, 5am >_< LOL

i have a 1.3.2 version of the v10 RC3.  SEUS. if you want it i can email you the file. it works quite fine, just that it is a little dark, and it might be somewhat glitchy. Works fine for me though. The only hindrance is that i decreased my FPS from 80+ to a mere 10 or below. O well cya tmr! Go to sleep!

The tower looks very good. Be careful not to cramp them together too much, make sure every tower is useful and overlooks an unique area.

Unfortunately you'd need a snapshot/1.4 version as I'm using corner stairs which aren't a 1.3.2 feature. I'm not sure if the stairs would simply place themselves regularly if you tried using this world on 1.3.2 but I know all of the other things like my carrots, potatoes, and item frames wouldn't Posted Image.

Ty Posted Image, The closest towers are 20 blocks apart and in between these I will have gates in the wall to allow entry in and out of the Plains. They are actually all much farther apart than they look in the picture. I had to slightly change my FOV because they wouldn't all fit into 1 screenshot.

Oic. We just haveto wait then. My current SEUS v10 is unable to work its fullest in 1.3.2 . Things such as god rays and waving foliage just do not appear in 1.3.2. Currently waiting for the official release for 1.3.2, but
If 1.4
Comes out by then, i will be RAGING . Anyway, even without your corner stairs, you should still be able to handle quite a decent amount of detail. You can take a look at FyreUK.. They didn't
Use any mods at all, but their stuff NEVER faills to blow me away.

It most likely will come out by then =\. The good news is the lighting engine is supposed to be completely re-done by then eliminating all of the current lighting issues. So that may make updating the mod easier but it could make it an absolute mess too. Time will tell. Out of curiosity what texturepack do you use? I use dokucraft light but I have a custom mossy cobblestone texture that's Aether-esque. It matches the stone basically the stone brick texture but with some runic symbols on it.

I see. Well I may or may not use mossy cobble throughout but I think that will depend more so on how much I have as I'm done to about 6 stacks at the moment. I need to go Jungle Temple Hunting Posted Image. Already loaded up the Jungles lol.

Edit: 3 new pics inbound. Removed an older one for a better up close look.

Working on the one of the second gates towers and I find this waiting me inside the tower. FML. The Smoke is a skeleton that died from the second skeleton shooting him.

I will have to improvise. I don't have much other choice lol.

With that being said here is the *almost* completed 1st section of the wall. It's taken me over 10 hours to build and surprisingly only about 2 inventories of blocks. Probably because it's mostly hollow :D. Anyway I still need to add the finishing touches of ice+half slabs for the walkway.

Try taking some screenshots without the inventory bar and arm so i can do some cinematic effects on it :D

Check back tomorrow for them. I'm finishing the walkway and then going to bed, almost 5am again lol.

FINISHED. There's ice under the half slabs - silk touch ftw.
