I still have quite a bit to do, like fixing the void fog, letting the terrain generate further out than the small island (It's essentially a copy of The End's chunk provider), fixing the portal creation, and allowing for multiple biomes (This will be the hardest thing to do).
I also plan on addng a new ore, which is Amethyst. It will only generate in the Promised Land, and will have its own tool and armor set. It will be a tier above diamond, seeing as it's harder to get, and is essentially an endgame material. I'm trying to think of some other uses for it, but for now, it'll just be a new tool/armor material.
Just wanted to say excellent work on this mod. I've got it working perfectly with Mo' Creatures and Mob Spawn Controls, and it's just a blast. I have a minor suggestion: Could you tweak the Alps biome to make it a bit more "noisy" elevation-wise? The current one is just a steep cliff at the border with a big flat mountaintop -- I think it'd be better with a ton of peaks and cliffs within the biome.

All I need to fix is the portal activation/placement (Activating the portal with flint and steel doesn't work, even though I copied the vanilla portal block code, and the portal doesn't get placed at the right coordinates), and the void color (The bottom of the sky turns black when you're below y = 62, and I'm trying to make it so it's the same color as the regular fog in the dimension).
I'm going to keep it as a finite island, cause it's almost like your own paradise getaway or whatever. There is quite a bit of amethyst ore generated in the island, but it'll mean you have to be careful with resource management, especially on multiplayer.
Just an idea for the portal, why not make it out of endstone in a 5 by 5 gateway, with the trigger being nothing other than the great Dragon Egg itself? Would be the ultimate way to not only give the egg a good use, but to also make sure that it is infact an end game location. Also, with the design, it would almost feel like.... you conquered the end, and brought back the day to it. Or perhaps traveled back in time to a time before the dragon's reign. Up to you if you use this idea, just would be a very good way to keep this place (and it's powerful ores) a tad bit more balanced, by giving it the ultimate vanilla challenge, taking down the dragon.
I've actually changed the Magic Mirror to be the teleporter for now, but there are problems with it being done that way. Originally, it was just going to use a portal made of End Stone, and activated with some kind of staff crafted with a nether star and some other things.
Along with that, I made the Enderporter send you back to your spawn point, as well as not use the Ender Dragon Egg for the crafting recipe. A lot of people like keeping the Dragon Egg as a trophy, and since you can only get one legitimately, it doesn't really work well as a crafting ingredient.
There aren't really any issues with balance though, as the dimension is endgame content. Although it's more like a reward, rather than a new challenge, seeing as there are no hostile mobs in the Promised Land, with a new ore that can be crafted into tools/armor that is a tier above diamond.
It's not going to be like the Aether or anything, in terms of content. It's just something I thought I'd do to remove the Promised Land from the overworld, as it was the least fitting biome in it.
So what will happen to existing maps that have the promised land as an existing biome after the change?

You're most likely going to want to start a new world in the next update, as it changes a ton of things. Nearly every biome has been tweaked to look nicer, and of course, there are the 10 new biomes.

Alright, I'm having an issue here.
I'm going to start by saying that I'm currently using Forge, due to a need to use it by more than one mod I'm planning on using. I of course installed it after MCpatcher patched up the HD texture fix. Don't worry, it's updated.
So I decided to use this mod along with Portal gun, Mine Little Pony and Rei's Minimap.
When I tried loading it with the 4 of them, it didn't work. The game crashed. I took off all the mods to the exception of this one, and yet it still crashed.

Question. I haven't really played around, but will things like Bee hives, Oil, RP2 Tress and volcanoes, ect still generate?
Forestry beehive spawning has been fixed for the next update, so I imagine Buildcraft oil, RP2 trees/volcanoes, and other things from other mods will appear then too.
When I'm in creative mode and place any of your custom biome colored plants they turn out gray. Is it just me or is this a bug? On another note the new update looks pretty damn impressive. Keep up the good work
Yeah, it's a bug. I'm not sure why it happens, but it does.
The Promised Land is more of a "reward" than a new challenge. It has new materials (New tree type, holy stone/grass, amethyst, etc.), it's mob free and constantly daylight, and it provides some really great scenery.
Err, you cant really link your harddrive to the internet . . .
Anyways, I LOVE this mod; I have been wanting a break from servers, but I didnt neccessarily want to go back to bland biomes. You sir, have solved my problem.
