Bukkit Colour Codes

I was asked about how to use colour codes in Bukkit so here it is. Using the Essentials on a Bukket server allows you to use colour codes. To use them just follow these codes. If these dont work then sometimes different plugins change the symbol in front of the number.

&0 BLACK
&1 DARK BLUE
&2 DARK GREEN
&3 DARK AQUA
&4 DARK RED
&5 DARK PURPLE
&6 GOLD
&7 GRAY
&8 DARK GRAY
&9 INDIGO
&A   GREEN
&B AQUA
&C         RED
&D     PINK
&E     YELLOW
&F    WHITE
&M     STRIKE THROUGH
&N UNDERLINED
&L BOLD
&K     RANDOM
&O     ITALIC

In Writable books you can use these codes by pasting in the § to use these.
I hope this helps everyone that is confused, thanks for reading XD

Yo, looks like you need some help with the Essentials.config file?? Well, if you edit your Essentials.config; Server_Folder/Plugins/Essentials_(Folder)/Essentials.config, you will find a setence somewhere in that file saying; "enable coloured signs", you wanna change the "false" to "true", or course :)
If that doesn't work, there is a awlays the alternative of using a seperate plugin for that. http://dev.bukkit.or...ds/signcolours/

Also alt + 2 1 or alt + 7 8 9 on the right keypad will make the § symbol. Not sure it works in minecraft, but I believe so.

Also, you can add colours to server MOTD's if that sounds interesting to anyone. Just look it up.

You'll need to use a MCEdit filter of SethBling's to get colors in command blocks. You can download that at sethbling.com.

If you are using Essentials, you will need to enable coloured signs in the config file.
Spoiler:

Also, if you are using permissions, give the groups you want access to use colour codes in signs the permission node "essentials.signs.color".

If you, as a donor, have access to using colour codes in your nickname, then type the following:
/nick &0Darth&4Maul
Of course, that is, assuming the plugin used by the server you are playing on is using the command "/nick" to change player nicknames.

There's a useful explanation on Minecraft Wiki that I would recommend you have a look at.

It's a bit confusing at first, but you should get the hang of it.

The colour codes actually go before the formatting codes, meaning you should be writing this:
/nick &0&nDarth&4&nMaul

Also, I tried it but the server said nicknames must be alphanumeric.
